Teacher: Good afternoon class!

Students: Good afternoon Teacher!
Teacher: Okay, class you may sit down. Are you ready to learn a new lesson today?
Student: Yes, we are!
Teacher: Our lesson for today is about Personal Protective Equipment or PPE. Are
you familiar with PPE?
Alena: (raised hand) I’m familiar with that teacher!
Teacher: Okay Alena, what do you know about PPE?
Alena: PPE is designed to protect our body from injuries.

Teacher: That’s correct! Very good Alena! PPE refers to protective clothing,
helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's
body from injury. I have here some pictures of PPE.
Teacher:(shows picture of face mask)I know you are familiar with this one. Can
you tell me what this is and what is the purpose of it?
Mark Joseph: That’s a face mask teacher, we use that for fashion purposes.
Teacher: Correct! This is a face mask but we do not use it for fashion purposes.
We use face mask to cover our face from inhaling or absorbing dust and other
chemicals.
Mark Joseph: Ohh, thanks for the information teacher!
Teacher: No problem! How about this one? (shows picture of anti-static devices)
Airish: That’s anti-static devices! It includes anti-static wrist strap, anti-
static mat, Anti-static bag and anti-static spray.
Teacher: Good job! These are anti-static devices. We use these anti-static
devices to reduce, dampen, or inhibit the buildup of static electricity to
eliminate the risk of any damage being caused by it.
Airish: Is it necessary to use the anti-static devices?

Teacher: If you don't care what could happen to your computer parts,
don't use it. The strap allows you to avoid electric discharges on circuits and
sensitive electronic components that can stop working anymore if receive
some static electricity. So, it's good to use it.
Teacher: Okay, next picture (shows picture of gloves) Jay-Z can you tell me what
this is and why do we use this?
Jay-Z: Those are gloves, we use it to protect our hands from wounds.
Teacher: Correct! Gloves are worn during work projects that cover and protect the
hands from the wrist to the fingers. Work gloves are meant to save the user's
hands and fingers from unnecessary wounds such as cuts, blisters, splinters, skin
punctures or heat and chemical burns.
Teacher: (shows picture of rubber sole shoes) What kind of shoes is this?
Alena: Those are rubber sole shoes.
Teacher: Very good! These are rubber sole shoes. It is a special type of shoes to
prevent electrical shock and for waterproofing and insulating purposes.
Mark Joseph: Can we use slippers instead of rubber sole shoes?
Teacher: slippers doesn't matter. you won't get any electrical shock until and
unless your body is grounded by any means which may complete a current path.
current always requires a complete conducting path to flow. when you hold a live
wire if your body is not shorted with ground by a conducting path you won't get a
shock. But it is advisable to use rubber sole shoes when working with live wires.
Teacher: (shows picture of apron) I know you know this equipment.
Airish: That is an apron teacher
Jay-Z: Why do we need apron when working? Are we going to cook?
Teacher: An apron is a garment worn over the front of the body as a protection
for one’s cloth. We use apron not just for cooking.
Teacher: Last one, (shows picture of goggles) class, what is this? And why do we
use it?
Jay-Z: That is a goggles. Goggles may be used to protect the eye against
particles, chemicals, water, glare and from things striking the eyes.
Teacher: Very good! Do you have any questions class?
Students: None.
Teacher: Okay, that’s it class! I hope you learned something in our lesson! You
may keep your things and you may go. Goodbye class!
Students: Goodbye and thank you Teacher!
