The hotel experience at the Godfrey was based on one simple assumption,
different people need and expect different things in their hotel rooms. As a
result, there are 26 different room types in this 221 key hotel. It is a similar
to the Apple watch that offers an endless variety of ways to see time – it is a
single design that caters to human variability. Conventional wisdom
suggests you design the ideal hotel room and repeat it over and over again.
The Godfrey rejects convention and celebrates variability. The architecture
expresses mindset in a form that defies the logic of gravity – using a
staggered truss structural system, full story high steel trusses span across
the full width of the building and are staggered from one floor to the next.
With the corridors and vertical circulation aligned vertically, the offsetting
mass of the building accommodates the different room configurations. The
trusses also allow for clear spans on the fourth floor for the restaurant and
meeting rooms.

The design of the Godfrey hotel is a continuous exploration of modernist forms where weightless
masses rest on a gracefully balanced structural skeleton reasserting the indeterminate ambiguous
condition of modern times in a truly unexpected way. The expressive structural frame are intentionally
daring and honest a real “Chicago building” linking to the city’s rich past of architectural innovation.

The hotel is a conference hotel, and the airport a hub in the regional web. The idea is that airborne
conference guest have their meetings here by the airport and don't have to travel into the city
Centre. The hotel is inspired by the generous landscape in the area, the low horizon and the huge skies.
The two parts of the façade is elaborated in material and detailing. The hotel is built up around
several, different meeting places. The idea is to stimulate meetings, planned or informal; small or
large exchanges of ideas and knowledge. It is made for spatial richness that gives the places depth
and quality as inspiration to the meetings.

Serena Hotel

The hotel which is built on seven levels features a range of terraces and pavilions. Standing at the
foot of the northern hills this exceptional hotel is surrounded by six acres of landscaped gardens.
The terrain depicts the rich culture, heritage and traditions of Pakistan’s northern valleys. The true
spirit of this hotel is reflected in the aesthetics of the public areas, corridors, rooms and restaurants
highlighting trademarks of Islamic and Moorish architecture The 336 rooms and 51 suites at Serena
hotel inspire and soothe simultaneously. Within each room, elaborate Islamic aesthetics are
perfectly balanced with contemporary comfort.
