PHIMOSIS – PARA-PHIMOSIS

 In para-phimosis, the retracted foreskin can´t slide forward to cover the

glans. This condition appears more frequently in children, after washing
the penis or during the normal manipulation that your child will have at
each stage of their exploration and development.

 The glans becomes inflamed and the pressure increases in the retracted
prepuce, which is trapped.
 The increase in pressure doesn’t allow the blood to reach the distal penis,
which can lead to tissue destruction if the foreskin is not carried forward.

 Para-phimosis is a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, and immediate treatment is

required. The immediate treatment consists of reducing the glans, so that
the foreskin can be replaced.

If the parents, after the information and resolve of all the doubts that you
have, together we decided not to perform the circumcision if your child have a
para-phimosis problem, you should go immediately to the emergency room or
speak to your pediatric surgeon to solve the problem as soon as possible.
