A. Drill
Task 1: The Philippines during the Pre-Colonial Period
View each painting closely. With a partner, describe the kind of life the
Filipinos had during the Pre-Colonial Period.
B. Review
What significant lessons did you learn during elementary?
Motivation:
Give students a piece of news article and let them scan/skim for details.

C. Preparation
Task 2: A way of life: Work with a partner and state your agreement or
disagreement with the statements below. Be ready to justify your stand.
D. Development Activity
Skim a narrative of Local Festival, “Tugob” to determine key / main idea.

Read the selection and find out how witty our ancestors were, and what
they created to reveal their inner thoughts and wisdom towards better
living. (pp. 19)
G. Evaluation
After reading the selection, let us see how well you understood it by
answering pp. 21 of your book.
H. Assignment
Draw the Philippine map on a short bond paper and write at least five
original proverbs from evaluation beside the place where these proverbs
originated.
