NADDI VILLAGE- WRITE UP

Naddi village located in mcleodganj is a village which is one of the hotspot for tourists coming to visit
dharamshala. The village is a landscape site. One of the major attraction for the tourists is the
immense amount of snowfall that attracts hundreds of tourist to come and visit the village. There is
snowfall all round the year. Residential blocks tell us that it is the nearest place to see snow.

The weakness of this site is that the village has been neglected with lack of street lights and also not
enough facilities in the nearby location. The complete village is covered with snow and is easily
approachable with white dhauladhar hills. And since it is in mcleo but it doesn’t fall in the boundary
of dharamshala which lacks the development of this area. There is a threat of wild animals coming
down from the mountains at times. There is lack of public toilets in this area. The village is easily
accessible from the roads. It is a starting point for a number of people for trekking.

I chose this site as the site is very calm and peaceful and there’s no noise obstruction around it. One
can have meditation/yoga for their mental peace. The scenic nature is an eye catching element
there is enough vegetation around it.

The points that can be achieved is horizontality as the site is wide in area. There are contours
present on this site where we can play with levels and have a variety of building envelops
accordingly. Since it is open to all the four sides the angle of the sunlight can be set during the
construction of the building. The trees placed on the site can be useful for some elevations as they
are quite heighted. There is a liberty for one to provide the basic facilities like public toilets and
lights. Since the village is a focal point for the people living there connectivity can be put between
the various events and can be easily accessible for the people who travel long distances for their
respective needs.
