Inhalation : Remove to fresh air. In case of shortness of breath, give

oxygen. Consult a physician after significant exposure. If
unconscious place in recovery position and seek medical
advice.
Skin contact : Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If
symptoms persist, call a physician.
Eye contact : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids,
for at least 10 minutes. Consult an eye specialist immediately.
Ingestion : Rinse mouth. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Do NOT induce
vomiting. Risk of aspiration! Call a physician immediately. If a
person vomits when lying on his back, place him in the
recovery position.

Notes to physician

Symptoms : Symptoms of overexposure may be headache, dizziness,

tiredness, nausea and vomiting. Components of the product
may affect the nervous system.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing : Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or

media carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media which : Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread
must not be used for safety fire.
reasons
Specific hazards during fire : Combustible liquid, Vapours may form explosive mixture with
fighting air. Attention! The formation of organic peroxides is possible.
The product is insoluble and floats on water. Flash back
possible over considerable distance. Fire may cause evolution
of: Carbon oxides, Under certain fire conditions, traces of other
toxic products cannot be excluded.
Special protective : Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
equipment for fire-fighters
Additional advice : Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions : Use personal protective equipment. Provide adequate

ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe
gas/fumes/vapour/spray.
Environmental precautions : Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid
subsoil penetration. If the product contaminates rivers and
lakes or drains inform respective authorities. If material
reaches soil inform authorities responsible for such cases.

Methods for cleaning up : Ensure adequate ventilation. Remove all sources of ignition.
Explosive properties Prevent the liquid entering sewers,
workpits and basements Absorb with liquid-binding material
(sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders). Treat
recovered material as described in the section "Disposal
considerations".
Additional advice : Flash back possible over considerable distance.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling
Advice on safe handling : Keep container tightly closed. Reacts with air to form
peroxides. Handle and open container with care. Provide
sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.
Advice on protection : Combustible liquid Vapours may form explosive mixtures with
against fire and explosion air. Attention! The formation of organic peroxides is possible.
Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.
Flash back possible over considerable distance. Use only
explosion-proof equipment. Keep away from sources of ignition
- No smoking. Take measures to prevent the build up of
electrostatic charge.

Storage
Requirements for storage : Keep in an area equipped with solvent resistant flooring. Store
areas and containers in original container. Keep away from heat and sources of
ignition. Keep in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place.
Advice on common storage : Materials to avoid: Oxidizing and spontaneously flammable
products, Strong oxidizing agents
Further information on : Reacts with air to form peroxides. Protect against light.
storage conditions
German storage class : 3A: Flammable Liquids
