Significance/Importance/Need :
The major factors driving the demand for the Sodium Tripolyphosphate
is the rise in demand for packaged food and food additives. Inaddition to this,
increase in the consumption of household cleaning agents and growth in laundry
technologies would also raise the demand for the STPP production.
Aim :
To design a comprehensive manufacturing chemical process for the
production of the product.
Objective :
 To understand the Techno Economic Feasibility of the product.
 To make the material and energy for all the intermediate process.
 To study the process flow in detail and design the key equipments.
 To study the market scenario of the STPP.
 To understand the cost analysis and profit viability of the product.
 To understand and analyze the Safety aspects of STPP.
Scope :
o Manufacturing of Sodium Tripolyphosphate using wet phosphoric acid
is included in the project and material and energy balance,cost
analysis,design of the main equipments,and safety analysis would also
be included in this project.
o Manufacturing of STPP using furnace phosphoric acid and using dry
method are excluded in this project.
o Increase in the consumption of household cleaning agents and growth
in laundry technologies and rise in the demand for food packages and
food additives is one of the major factors driving the demand for
Sodium Tripolyphosphate.
o Rise in the health concerns over high level of phosphates limits the
concentration of STPP in various applications and its environmental
impacts and an emerging substitutes such as Zeolites restrain the use of
STPP.
o This process talks about the STPP production at a rate of 100 tons/day.

Declaration
This product is not in the list of past 3 year project. If found, this product
will stand cancelled and a new product will be allotted . Even if the processes are
different, the same product should not be chosen.
