CHTSCHEDULER QUICK

MANUAL
VERSION #Q-001 -NOVEMBER 2010
BY MICHELDIAMOND & ANGUSC
1. INTRODUCTION - FOR WHAT CHTS
1.1 CHTSCHEDULER - WHY COULD IT BE USEFUL FOR ME?

I only want to simply quote here an answer to this question in CHT-Thread:

CHTS can beperhaps a little bit overwhelming in first impress. I concepted it

somehow like a Swiss knife for CHT.
And you know - a swiss knife has much different things, but some of them are useful
for you, other you don't need.
So is CHTScheduler - you can decide to use ONE, SOME or ALL of this
features:

- You can save your Home Tab/CHT directly after installing. Not only the
settings, also the images, design or simply your whole Layout. That is named by
some people the "Lifesaver". So if something is messed up after playing around with
the new CHT features or installing other Tweaks for your Layout - you can simply
switch your device back to the default installation.
I think that's the most useful benefit for all users, who install at least one
.cab (a clock, new colored icons, a widget,... whatever) after basic installing
of CHT v2.
So if you messed up your device, don't cry - you had your chance :)
(by simply saving a Baseline with CHTS)

- Now CHTS gives you the option to save more than one Layout. So you
can install different clocks, Designs, widgets and you can all save them seperately.
Then you can call your current favorite design on the fly. And one hour later another
design and so on.

- You can assign this Layouts also to a "Profile" - so you can define: Layout1
is for work, Layout2 is for the evening and so on

- But you can also use CHTS also without saving Layouts (ok - I would
always recommend to save a Baseline - if you ever had a freeze or something is
broken in Sense and indifferent you know why or not this freeze is caused - you can
go backwards. Who never had a freezes or Sense crashes or messed it up - can
ignore this feature of CHTS :-) )

- So you can also switch your CHT wallpapers - like you want: for each profile
or scheduled each xx:xx minutes. Also you can assign the wallpapers to the
current weather of your location

- You can define data settings. If you have one profile, then they will be set for
the whole day, otherwise they can be scheduled or manually switched. So BT
on in car or Data-Connection-Disabling at work, automatic Wifi at home, whatever
you need

- You can adjust Sense and CHT-Settings. So you can define the update time
of weather, stocks or the state icons, proximitiy, and so on
- You can let run up apps at a certain time. That's cool for Ram Cleaner,
Trashbin-Empty or each other app you have

- you can set your device to different volumes for ring, system, Incall - or
simply make it mute or vibrate.

- ...and more coming soon

But the most important - don't be afraid of the possibilities: You can
choose also only one of thes options or some of the options you like
to have and the rest is simply off.

So you can start to save a Baseline, so that a crash or messed-up Sense is

not a big deal - 30 seconds to call CHTS(witchGui) and apply Baseline and
your Sense is healed.

Or simply have fun with the Wallpaper which switches according to your weather...

1.2 QUICK HOW-TO BY ANGUSC

AngusC made a great general Quick Manual to know how to start with saving &
profiling & scheduling:

Introduction

It is important to understand that CHTS is a "plug in" for Cookies Home Tab (CHT)
and it does not replace the functionality of CHT only adds much more versatility to
CHT by allowing you to switch your complete Home Tab screens and layers at times
of the day that you choose. Therefore you must set up CHT and your Manila Home
Tab page and levels to how you like BEFORE you start to set-up CHTS.

Getting Started to profiling

1) Open the CHT Scheduler Icon

2a) Go to menu and select "Save Baseline". This will ONLY save the basic Manila
Sense Home Page settings and NOT your Quick Links.

2b)you can also directly choose "Save Layout" in Menu, then also the
Quick-/Freelinks are saved, but not assigned to a profile -> go on with 7)

3) Next (assuming that your current layout of CHT and Sense is how you want it for
normal "Day" operations then select the "Day (SaveMyDay)". This is your fall back
"get me out of jail" back up, hence the name "SaveMyDay".

4) Then select the "Layout" option and tick the "Add new layout".

5) Give it a name if not Layout_of_SaveMyDay is not already shown.

6) Enter comment or leave the default Date stamp.

7) Then click the "Save Theme (extended)" button. (this is important choice as only
this choice backs up ALL Sense and CHT settings including Quick Links. Actually this
option back up the entire Registry folder HKCU/Software/HTC/Manila folder to your
storage card).

Now you have your current Sense settings backed up on memory card.

8) Click Back and Back again.

9) Click menu and "Save and Apply CHTS Settings..."

Now you can go and completely re arrange your Sense Home Tab look changing all
shortcuts, wall papers and other things to give a new look and feel to your Topaz.

then repeat the above steps (3-7) above to save this new look of your Today Tab to
one of the other profiles, could be "Night (GoodNite)" or "SpareTime (SpareTime)" or
any other one....etc...etc.

Now to set your schedules to change the Sense Home Tab page using CHTS
you just use one of the saved Profiles from your Storage Card.

1) So for instance if you want to set-up the "GoodMorning" profile then select it from
the CHTScheduler interface.

2) Change the "Activate" option Switch to "ON".

3) Change the schedule times and days of the week for this profile to start when you
want it to.

4) Select the "Layout" option

5) Select "Apply this Theme" and here you will see all your saved Layouts on your
memory card but NOT the Baseline. Choose the one that you want this profile to take
when it is activated.

6) Select the "Wallpapers" option and here you can change the wall paper to be used
in this profile, here you can use the "Wallpaper depending on weather" option and if
you have downloaded the sample files from the CHTS home thread page then it will
automatically change the wall paper to match the current location weather.

There are many other changes that can be made for Sense settings, Data connection
statuses, System wide settings and execute other applications. The above set-up
should get you up and running with the very basic settings and give you an idea of
what the CHT Scheduler can do.

Please do read the rest of the setup manual to understand and appreiciate the other
functionality of this program.
2. QUICKIES (SHORT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SINGLE
PURPOSES)
Here you get little "Quick Manuals" which you can do independent, e.g. how to save
your Sense and restore it. Without scheduling/profiling.
Like said: CHTS is a swiss knife - but you mustn't use them all

2.1 SAVING & RESTORING SENSE-LAYOUT

You can easy save your HomeTab-Layout with all Settings, Links, positions, graphics:

Saving Sense Layout / Baseline:

1.oOpen CHTScheduler.

2.oChoose in left Menu "Save Layout" /"Save Baseline" (Baseline go on with

step 5)

3.oChoose a name and a comment for Layout.

4.oClick Button "Save Layout now".

5.oClose CHTScheduler (at best with Yes to Save&Apply)

Restoring Sense Layout / Baseline:

6.oOpen CHTSwitchGui.

7.oIgnore Profiles and scroll down to Layout/Baseline-Names

8.oActivate your saved Layout/Baseline

9.oClick Button "Load Layout xxx".

10.o Close CHTSwitchGui.

2.2 USING CHTS AS WALLPAPER-SWITCHER (DIRECTORY

OR BY WEATHER)

necessarily

o Open CHTScheduler.

o Choose as Profile "SaveMyDay"

o go to "Wallpapers".

o Wallpaper directory scheduling:

Thread at www.xda-developers.com for Wallpapers

•activate this by set toggle to on

o Go Back to main Menu and ensure if manually mode is active

o Close CHTS with Save&Apply

Hint: If you want only sometimes a wallpaper switch, then just leave SaveMyDay
undefined and use e.g. SpareTime to do the steps for activating Wallpapers.
If you open CHTSwitchGui and choose "SaveMyDay" you have no Wallpaper-
Scheduling, if you activate "SpareTime" - you have the chosen Wallpaper-
Scheduling

2.3 USING CHTS AS NODATA-APP

Activates NoData - which means that GPRS can't be switched on by any App as long
as you don't want it

o Open CHTScheduler.

o Choose as Profile "SaveMyDay"

o go to "Permanent Data Settings".

o Deny GPRS:

•Activate the 3-state-toggle "No GPRS allowed(No Data)". Please tab on left to
activate (left Icon is lighted up) and to right, that toggle is on (both
needed!)

o Allow GPRS:

•Also Activate the 3-state-toggle "No GPRS allowed(No Data)". Please tab on
left to activate (left Icon is lighted up) and to right, that toggle is off (both
needed!)

o Go Back to main Menu and ensure if manually mode is active

o Close CHTS with Save&Apply

o Repeat this steps to switch it on or off again

Hint: You can also define two different Profiles, one for Data off (e.g. "NoData"),
one for Data on (e.g. "LetsGetLoud") and then toggle between these both
profiles by CHTSwitchGui

2.4 USING CHTS AS AUDIO-PROFILE-APP

You can define different Profiles for Sound and switch between them

o Open CHTScheduler.

o Choose as Profile the Profile which you want for the Audio-Profile

o go to "System (Audio) Settings".

o Normal with different Volumes:

•Check "Normal"

•define with first Slider the Volume between 0-100% for system.

•if not "One Volume": define with second Slider the Volume between 0-100%
for ringer.

•define with third Slider the Volume between 0-100% for InCall-Volume (while
phoning).

o Vibration:

•Check "Vibrate"

o Silent:

•Check "Silent"

o Go Back to main Menu and ensure if manually mode is active

o Close CHTS with Save&Apply

Hint: Activate this profiles like you want with CHTSwitchGui (Recommendation:
Use Profiles "EnjoyTheSilence", "LetsGetLoud" and"Work4Me" for the different
things.) In Settings you can also rename the ProfileNames, to know, what this
Profile exactly does for you.

Hint: You can also use the "Automatically Mode" of CHTS for doing it without
need for manually switching by CHTSwitchGui. To define the times of days,
just go to the Time-definition of each profile. In Main Manual the Scheduling is
explained. Define a higher priorized porfile for "Normal", at best SaveMyDay
and then define Times in the other profiles for vibration and silence.
THE END

Have fun with CHTS!
