Antenna line device 1. Check the compatibility between the antenna line device and the BTS SW.
configuration failure
detected 2. Check that the given parameters are in the valid range. In RET case tilt angle is
within range (-30 to 30 degrees).

3. If RF Sharing configuration, check if the RET license has expired or removed

4. Issue a HW reset for the RF module from BTS Site Manager to introduce
power-off reset to the antenna line devices.

5. If alarm persists, replace antenna line device.

2. If Antenna line Device (MHA/RET) was added to a powered on RF Module, a
Manual RF Module reset must be triggered to cancel this alarm (recommendation
is to connect MHA/RET to a powered off RF Module and after connection,

RF module configuration Remote: Give BCF reset from BSC or issue a HW reset to the RF Module from
failure remote 2G Flexi BTS manager.

1. Issue a HW reset to the RF Module from 2G Flexi BTS manager.

2. Replace the RF Module.

RF module configuration file 1. Switch OFF/ON the alarming RF module.

RF Module detected antenna 1. Check the antenna line and antenna line devices. Make sure that the antenna
line device failure line connectors are in the right torque.

2. Issue a HW reset for the RF module from BTS Site Manager to introduce
power-off reset to the antenna line devices.

configuration file failure
2. If alarm persists, replace RF module.

RF module detected LNA 1. Issue a RF module HW reset from BTS Site Manager to allow alarm re-
failure evaluation.

2. Replace RF module.

RF module detected missing 1. Issue a RF module HW reset from BTS Site Manager.
TX feedback signal
2. If alarm persists, replace RF module.

Note: Temporary start/cancel of this alarm indicates that an automatic

OCP (over current protection) recovery mechanism was run to protect HW PA
damage. This is expected behavior. However, fluctuating or permanent alarm
condition indicates real problems with the system leading to PA damage.

RF module detected RET 1. Check the antenna line for any damage affecting the current supply to the
Antenna Control Failure RET.

2. Replace RET and issue Radio Module reset.

3. If RET is connected in chain with another ALD device, check for any fault on
the previous in chain ALD device, in case of fault in the previous in chain
device replace that device, and trigger a Radio Module reset.

RF module detected too high 1. Issue a RF module HW reset from BTS Site Manager.
or low Tx power
2. If alarm persists, replace RF module.

RF module detected VSWR This alarm is activated, when user definable minor VSWR alarm threshold has
above minor limit been exceeded.

1. Check the condition of the feeder and jumper cable, their connectors, sockets
and connector seals starting from BTS end and proceed towards the antenna
end.

2. If MHA is used, check that it is of correct (sub) band.

3. With external test equipment, measure the Return loss/VSWR of the antenna
line. Perform step 1 again, if the measurement result is higher than expected.

4. Check the VSWR alarm threshold limits. If peer technology is radio master,
VSWR alarm limits are inherited from there.

5. Replace RF module.

RF module detected RF module uses an internal configuration file and now either conflicting or
configuration file failure corrupted data in the configuration file has been detected. Default internal
parameters are used, performance might be degraded.

1. Issue a RF module HW reset from BTS Site Manager.

2. If alarm persists, replace RF module.

RF module TX output power 1. Observe the ambient temperature. If it reaches more than +50 degrees, the
is reduced (at max 3.0 dB) to behavior of RF module is expected. Try to cool down the environment a little.
prevent overheating
2. If ambient less, check that RF module is not covered with debris or is almost
touching other hot artefact. Otherwise, replace RF module.

RSSI detected Rx signal Supplementary information fields of RSSI alarm from the BSC history will give
difference exceeding further details of which antenna has exceeded the threshold value.
threshold
FlexiMulti/FlexiMulti10:

1. Check RSSI results with BTS Manager which antenna appears to have
abnormal values. If abnormal values are lower than values from other antennas,
it indicates a disconnected or faulty cable in the loop or a faulty LNA. If
abnormal values are higher than values from other antennas, it indicates
interference coming outside of the BTS or a faulty cable/module.

2. Check whether the selectable RSSI Sample Count is correct considering the
BTS site environment.

3. Check that the RXDL parameter at the BSC is set to a reasonable value,
taking into account the site condition in order to prevent unnecessary alarms.

4. If the alarm is intermittent, the supplementary information fields in the BSC

alarm history (ZEOH) give further details of which antenna has exceeded the
threshold values.

5. Check and measure the antenna lines.

6. Check the antenna alignment.

4. Check the DC input voltage level at RF Module PWR connector.

5. Check that optical cable is connected and correctly mated between System
Module and RF Module (FXxx).

6. Check that the optical SFP plug-in matches the optical cable type (that is, multi
mode or single mode cable) at both ends. Replace in case broken.

7. Replace the RF module.

allocated for IDD Auxiliary following odd TRX ID:s 3,9,15,21,27,33. For these the auxiliary path
TRX in RF module configuration is not supported.

2. Ensure that 'per TRX power' value of the local sector is correct, so that
Auxilary TRX can be accomodated to the existing antenna lines.

3. Ensure that the IDD TRX is configured to the correct sector at BSC.

4. Allocate another antenna line in the same sector for the IDD TRX via
recommissioning.

3. If alarm persists, replace RF module.

TRX object allocation failed 1. Check the alarm diagnostic/supplementary info field (first digit):
in RF module
• "01": This indicates that RF Module is dumb or not connected.

• "02": Ensure that 'per TRX power' value of the local sector is correct and
not exceeding the maximum combined Tx output power. Additionally,
next digit (shelf info) "01" indicates that dynamic power pooling feature
is not allowed with MOBSS, Baseband/AH hoping, IDD 2UD/4UD
enabled sector.

• "03": Check that allostrecated frequency fit in to the RF Module and

check the number of antenna lines defined in SCF per sector.

• "04": Invalid parameter/operation/parameter value from RF Module.

Check TRX frequency band with respect to RFM HW band type.

• "05" If sharing is not allowed by peer technology for a given shared RF

Module, then remove that RF Module and associated antenna lines for
the impacted sector and assign alternate antenna lines on a different RF

the impacted TRX objects.

3. In case of 3RAT configuration this alarm can be started due to cable
