INTRODUCTION
Job training is an elective course in the Geophysical Engineering Department, Bandung Institute
of Technology, which is designed to combine scholarly research, practical experience, academic
activities, and community service in a real job-experience for students. The purpose of the Internship is
providing specific yet technical learning that is not practically available to students in the conventional
college classroom.

We, the students is choosing to enroll in Job Training, are expected to quality studies, research
outcomes or project that provide appropriate field-based work experiences related to geosciences and
industries. These skills and experiences should be in setting unrelated to current and prior activities.
This experience is expected to focus on student’s participation in exploring activity including data
acquisition, data processing, and data interpretation. In other words, it emphasizes on case study and
problem solving. These are intended to study particular condition found in the world of exploration,
which will be further studied and analyzed to actually and academically find the solutions. Thus, Job
Training in a company is one of the ways where students can get some working experience
simultaneously.

Premier Oil Indonesia is one of the energy companies in Indonesia that is engaged in every
aspect of the oil and natural gas industry, including Geology and Geophysics application, and also
Geosciences, either in exploration, production, or after production stage. Hopefully, with university
based program like Job Training, Pertamina EP can support to continuously develop the Indonesian
student’s skill on energy exploration.

PURPOSE

The proposes of this Job Training are :

1. To enable us as geophysical engineering majors to apply what we have learned in the classroom
to job situations, especially about Seismic Data Acquisition, Data Processing, and Data
Interpretation
2. To gain job experience in industry broaden our geophysical engineering and geology engineering
training
3. An application method from Geophysical Engineering lectures :
a. Kuliah TG3261 Akusisi & Pengolahan Data Seismik Refleksi
b. Kuliah TG4168 Pengantar Seismik Stratigrafi
c. Kuliah TG4162 Interpretasi Seismik Refleksi
4. To gain more knowledge concerning Interpretation skills from Geology Engineering lecture
(Kuliah GL3052 Geologi Minyak dan Gas Bumi)

PROPOSED TOPIC

The topic we would like to proposed is :

Seismic Data Interpretation

Further, if the proposed topic is not available, the topic may be changed depends on list of lectures we
have taken during college.

TIME AND LOCATION

We propose this Job Training to be done on January 2011. The location of this Job Training is at
Pertamina EP.
