INSTRUCTIONS ON FASTING

 Fasting is for devotion


 It is an exercise of consecration
 Fasting means I am not allowing any desire to control me
 Fasting is to receive; because I am inclined to hear more form God
 Fasting must always accompany a spiritual exercise
 If you fast without a spiritual activity it is an hunger stroll/strike
 Fasting helps us to listen to God
 Fasting must be because of something; be conscious of this
 You must have a list of things you want to study or pray over when you are fasting
3 Things that must be involved in fasting;
1. You minister to the Lord through worship
2. You pray; spend time to pray so that you can be receptive.
>> Prayer makes fasting effective
3. Spend time to study Gods word
>> Fasting gets my attention to God, to pay attention because God needs my
attention
4. Feed your Spirit by listen to Christian sermons and messages

 Praying, hearing God’s word, reading and meditating on God’s word is what makes a
fast glorious

Why we Fast?
1. To seek God for direction
2. Fast to consecrate your decisions in devotion to God
3. We fast to starve our flesh and empower our spirit

What to expect from a Fast?


1. God talks to us through men, so in the time of fasting, listen attentively to people.
