Chapter 3

METHODOLOGY

This chapter contains the design and methods used to achieve the

objective of this study which to determine the common stressors and its

level as perceived among Senior High School Students of Bunawan National

High School.

Similarly, this chapter will discuss the procedures done to acquire the

data needed for analyzing and evaluating the study. Thus, specifies the

research design, Respondents of the study, Data gathering procedure and

analysis of the data that will be employed to this particular study.

Research Design

This study used a survey quantitative design, as the researchers

obtained information from the group and computed for numerical values

that will be the common stressor and its level.

Research Locale

This study was conducted in Bunawan National High School,

Bunawan Agusan del Sur. This school was located at P-7 San Teodoro

Bunawan Agusan del Sur. The school is just a few meters away from the

national highway. This is the main school in the municipality with two

thousand five hundred six Junior High School and four hundred ninety one

Senior High School students.

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of the study were four hundred ninety one Grade 11

and Grade 12 of Bunawan National High School. They were identified using

the Sloven’s formula. Simple random sampling was used to in selecting the

respondents or samples from different strata of the population as reflected

in Table 1.

Research Instruments

This study used self-developed and validate survey questionnaire as

means of collecting and obtaining desired data. The instrument was

composed of a 20-item in a 5-point Likert Scale from strongly agree to

strongly disagree.

Data Gathering Procedure

A survey questionnaire administered personally in random sampling

to the identified respondents by the researchers was conducted. Permission

secured by the letter from the office of the, the responses gathered by said

questionnaires were subjected to analysis and interpretation.

Statistical treatment

In the interpretation of the data and the determination of common

stressor and its level the following statistical tools were used:

Frequency Counts and Percentage. To determine the profile of the

respondents, frequency counts and percentage were used.

Weighted Mean. To determine the level of significance of common

stressor of students weighted mean, with intervals and interpretation shown

in table 2 were utilized.

Analysis of Variance. To determine the significant difference of

common stressors and its level among Senior High School students, the

ANOVA was used.
