INTRODUCTION

Indonesian Urological Association is an organization Indonesian Urologist.

The Indonesian Urological Association (IUA) founded in 1973 by committee consists
of 12 Indonesian Urologists and currently is headed by Dr. dr. Nur Rasyid, SpU(K).
At this moment, IUA has more than 500 urologist distributed in all over Indonesia.
Vast amount of urologist and scattered distribution made IUA responsible to
maintain its member quality and competence with continued education and training
in many centers. Along with the increasing of patient’s awareness of medical
information, doctors have to maintain their competence in the highest quality.
Therefore IUA in conjunction with Urology Centers in Medan has arranged Annual
Scientific Meeting as an event to gather and update medical knowledge, and develop
certain skill to whole of its members.
Medan Uroday is part of an effort to maintain competence and learn new
science for a doctor. Attempts to retain competence and learn new science are of
paramount importance to a doctor, especially in the present where patient’s access
to information is so much easier that a physician must continue to master his
competence and develop his knowledge.
Starting this year, the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery, Medical
Faculty of Universitas Sumatera Utara and H. Adam Malik General Hospital will
organize an annual urology scientific meeting known as Medan Uroday. Topic for
symposium of the first year is Getting to Know Urology in One Day which will be held
in 1 day. Symposium will conssist of lectures, workshop, interactive seminar, and
panel discussion.

As stated before, the 2nd Medan Uroday will be the second meeting about daily
Urology practice held in Medan, North Sumatera. This meeting will be intended for
general practitioners and urologic consultant to have better understanding and
recent updates on urology daily care practice for men’s health. Through a stable and
continously evolving necessity of science, we hope that the first meeting will have
positive impact toward the next annual scientific meeting and provide a greater
