School-Based Management (SBM) Implementation Of

Public Elementary Schools in the City Schools

implementation in your school.

1. What are your participation/ contribution to the extent of SBM


implementation in the school in terms of:

a. Leadership and Governance


Taking part as SBM teacher isn’t simply an ordinary task to uphold. It
requires full mind-set regarding the nature of the work as well as our
colleagues to whom we talk informally.
Logically, pursuing duties as SBM teacher on this particular principle
(Leadership and Governance) should designed timetable to systematically
invoked results which are worthy to appreciate by anybody and most
significant would substantiate others. Those results as I am referring to the
contribution as SBM teachers. Such contribution are identified and specified
herewith.
a. Engaging in numerous activities to efficiently gathered updates about
the current school situations and events.
b. Providing better experiences to students and other external
stakeholders.
c. Being an avenue for one’s professional growth.
d. Establishing the following treats among each members of the group,
such as;
TEAM WORK
Team work among the members of the particular principle were clearly observed
specially on data/file gathering procedure.
ACTION PLAN
There’s an action plan provided by the team prior to the official date as to the first
class of the school year. This helped them achieved a properly-coordinated flow of
activities in every schedule of file gathering.
DIVISION OF LABOR (Professional Acceptance of Duties)
The documents and/or files needed were kept among the designated program
coordinators. (e.g. School Head Developmental Program, SRC and etc.,).

b. Curriculum Instruction

This principle focuses on the teaching and learning procedure along


the given curriculum and other matters pertaining to performances of the
teacher, students and the overall attainment of the school. This belief has
been the channel to accord serviceable contribution to everybody. Such
contributions are the following;

Serves as an avenue for an availability of documents/files


 LM’s, TG’s, CG’s including also student’s portfolio were provided by every
teachers or classroom advisers. Those were easily reached by the assigned
members of the team since they’re all stocked and updated by the teachers
itself.
Assurances for colleagues
 The teachers show cooperation to all the scenario of the program. They
were easy to dwelt-in especially during the gathering of files.
All around you would see classrooms trying their best to come up with
classroom lessons that are innovative. I always trying to find out the quality
of new educational technologies, and come up with instructional practices
that can absolutely prove to be effective. And by that, my fellow teachers
are now getting ideas and materials that they are able to use for the years
to come.

c. Accountability and Continuous Improvement

The following are the contributions provided on the implementation of


School Based Management in respect to Accountability and Continuous
Improvement.
ACTIVE CONNECTION
 There’s an active communication between the team (Principle 3 Team) and
the School Program Coordinators such as Physical Properties Coordinator,
SBFP Teacher, DRRMO and others. This makes the gathering of documents
easier and convenient to both sides.
PROPER DOCUMENTED FILES
 The files released and submitted by the designated program coordinators
were properly received, filed, approved and furnished 3 copies to abstain
the documents from being vanished.

d. Management of Resources
The enumerated statements below are the contributions allocated during
the implementation of School Based Management Program specifically on
Management of Resources.
LEGALLY APPROVED
 Most of the documents were legally approved by the assigned authorities
from both offices – School and Division Office.
 Some were properly documented and supported by the School, Division
and Regional Memorandum as well as Orders.
REACHEBLE DOCUMENTS
 The different files were easy to reach due to its availability. Those are
monthly reports provided by the Canteen Managers, SBFP, SPG’s and other
concerned Program Coordinators.

2. What are the issues and concerns you have encountered in the SBM
implementation in your schools in terms of:

1. Leadership and Governance:


The following are the issues and concerns encountered by the School during
the implementation of School Based Management Program specifically on
Leadership and Governance.
 Some files were lacking and wouldn’t have other duplicate.
 Time of team members are not flexible. It has been difficult for
them to set a schedule due to their teaching periods.
 Insufficiency of equipment’s such as printer, Xerox machine and
type writing.
 Some members of the group/team aren’t a computer literate. They
only knew basics of computer.
2. Curriculum and Learning
The following are the issues and concerns encountered by the School during
the implementation of School Based Management Program specifically on
Curriculum and Learning.
 Hard to set schedule as to “when” and “where” as well “how” to
make procedure easier and convenient due to teaching schedules.
 Some files are legally approved but furnished only by 1 copy.

3. Accountability and Continuous Improvement


The following are the issues and concerns encountered by the School during
the implementation of School Based Management Program specifically on
Accountability and Continuous Improvement.
 Some files didn’t have signatures of the authorized person.
 Some files has incorrect format and hereof, need to be changed.
 Schedule of teacher doesn’t jibe with their teaching schedules.

4. Management of Resources
The following are the challenges encountered by the School during the
implementation of School Based Management Program specifically on
Management of Resources.
 Vague checklist for MOV’s for each principle especially for every
indicator.
 Some documents didn’t have picture or documents that ratify the
events.
 No Xerox Machine to be Use. We still need to travel in order to furnish
a copy of the documents.
