Cashless Society: Usage Of Cashless Application Among Um Students

Abstract
The rising of cashless applications in Malaysia, which are also known as online mobile
payment applications, has been multiplying over the years. Many features and
services are offered by this digital payment systems. Besides, nearly 92 percent of
Malaysians had access to bank accounts, with 91 percent having access to online
banking, as said by Bank Negara. As technology has been developed throughout this
decade, everyone has been fitted with at least one smartphone per person, which
would be easy for users to use the cashless application or payment. This research
aims to recognize the use of cashless applications by the University of Malaya
students. Besides that, this study examines the differentials in the usage of the
cashless application by factors that influences the usage of e-Wallet. The methodology
of this study is mainly collecting the primary data through an online survey which the
data and evaluate with suitable statistic software such as SPSS and Microsoft Excel.
The respondents are undergraduate students from different faculty in the University of
Malaya. This study aims to examine the use of cashless applications in students' daily
lives and factor that influences students at the University of Malaya on electronic
payment practices. With the findings of this report, it is expected that further steps can
be taken to improve the eventual adoption of the cashless society.
