Pakistan Studies
Nothing can be more important than the country you are going to fight for in forces,
and this exactly elaborates the importance of Pakistan Studies when it comes to ISSB.
It will be worth mentioning that once I meet an army officer who was appointed as an
interviewing officer at ISSB kohat that time and in his briefing for the preparation of
The force you are going to join wants you to know at least the bases on which it
propagates and grown if not the whole details for sure and that is why interviewing
officers always ask questions related to Pakistan Armed Forces, majority ask about
Nishan-e-Haider and the names of recipients of this awards. You can find the list of the
martyrs who were awarded Nishan-e-Haider here for your preparation. In addition
some other questions can be asked as well but majority of the interviewing officers
stick to the recipients of Nishan-e-Haider and Inter Services Ranks. View Inter Services
Rank List here.Expected questions are:When Captain Muhammad Sarwar was
awarded by Nishan-e-Haider?Army Captain is equal to which naval officer rank?Name
of the Chief Commanding officers of Pakistan Army, Air Force and Navy.Importance of
armed forces.ISI is an abbreviation of what?Role of our forces in Indo-Pak wars.
General Awareness
Armed personal should not only be sound when it comes to his body but should also
act accordingly when it comes to his mind. He should know not only war tactics but
should also keep an eye on whats going on and where and that is what ISSB requires
from you. It doesn’t mean that you should know each and every thing ever made
found or lived on earth but it elaborates the meaning of being aware generally. This
will sound pretty vague in interview when you’ll be telling the officer that sir I have
done my intermediate in Maths and I have no idea what read blood cells are or how
blood is circulated in our body.
In ISSB questions regarding general knowledge are often asked keeping in view the age,
experience and social circle of the candidate. A rough estimate tells us that only 10% is
of General Knowledge. At ISSB interviewing officer will mainly stick to the following
information:Name of Countries and their capitals.Geo location (Geographical location
of countries)Name the current president, leading political parties.Current international
situation.Expected Questions:Where Germany is located.Tell names of three countries
located in Central Asia. The current government in United States is either of Democrats
or Republicans.
Religion
Expected Questions:
Total no of Ayahs.
And people with religion other than Islam, the interviewing officer might ask you
some thing about your own beliefs so get yourself prepared. We have never
encountered such situation so are unable to justify.
Current affairs
Important events occurred in Pakistan and at International scope during the few last
years. Our foreign policy, current political standings, important activities happening all
around the world.
Expected Questions:
We are unable to provide you a specimen this time as current affairs keep on changing
and that is a reason they are known as current affairs. We apologize for your
inconvenience
