New eco-premium technology

Berol® 609 is AkzoNobel’s next generation nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) replacement
that exceeds the degreasing power of leading NPE replacements.

What is Berol® 609?

• Berol® 609 is AkzoNobel’s next generation nonylphenol ethoxylate (NPE) replacement
• An alcohol ethoxylate blend designed to match the key properties and performance
of NP9 or NP10
• Berol® 609 exceeds the degreasing power of current NPE replacements
• Berol® 609 is completely water soluble – no hydrotrope needed
• Readily biodegradable
• TSCA and DSL listed
Effective degreasing performance • Available in drums or bulk
and environmentally friendly
Laboratory tests demonstrate the cleaning power of Berol® Why use Berol® 609?
609. An aqueous degreaser formulated with Berol® 609 • Intended to be used as a direct drop-in for NP9 or NP10
outperforms current commercially available NPE replacements. – Similar surfactant properties (cloud point equal to NP9)
– Better handling characteristics (lower pour point and viscosity); dissolves much
more quickly in cold water
Non-mechanical degreasing test results for NPE’s and potential
replacements – No need to modify other components of existing formulations to
maintain performance
• Developed to formulate highly efficient aqueous cleaners
• Berol® 609 replaces other alcohol ethoxylates that are described as NPE replacers
• Berol® 609 matches or exceeds the performance of NP9, NP10 and competitive
products at the same use level
