The importance of understanding customer characteristics

Why is understanding customers so important in business? "Our customers can be


likened to a king if what we offer is in accordance with their needs, then the customer will
indirectly buy by itself. But do you know the importance of understanding customers in the
company?
Today the company sells goods and services through a variety of direct and indirect
channels. We know mass advertising is not nearly as effective as it once was, so marketers explore
new forms of communication, such as experience marketing, entertainment, and viral. Customers
tell companies about the type of product or service they want and when, where, and how they want
to buy the product or service. More and more customers report to other consumers what they think
about certain companies and products through e-mail, blogs, podcasts and other digital media.
Companies change mechanisms from managing product portfolios to customer
portfolios, gathering databases about individual customers so companies can better understand
them and provide private offers and messages.
From the explanation above we can conclude if the company already knows the
characteristics of the customer and what the customer needs, the company will be easier in
determining the target market.

1. Using simple present tense (Ex: is)
2. Using contrastive conjuction (Ex: but)
