Factors leading to choose these institutions :

One of the most attractive features is, sheer diversity and richness of the research
interests of the members of the faculty, advanced research facilities and a stimulating
academic atmosphere. The flexibility in the course structure (PhD. In Micro-Economics)
and the variety of the electives available will help in expanding my knowledge in my field
of interest. This institute would provide me the required impetus to quench my thirst of
knowledge that delves deep into Economics. Department of Economics is rich and
diverse in its research interest and dynamic in its freedom of exploration. Especially
here my field of interest Micro-economic policies analysis is flourishing under the
guidance of pioneering researchers. The opportunity to study PhD course at this
institute would be a dream come true. And I am confident that given the opportunity to
study here I will be able to live up to the standards that benefit a student of such a
hallowed institution both in terms of academic commitment and responsibility towards
economic development. Campuses of the Institute also have highly efficient teaching
faculty and beautiful academic environment that can help me achieving my career goal.
I hope to make maximum use of the above mentioned universities in interdepartmental
exchange of ideas particularly with department of Economics & its application. Because
of the equal importance given to the practical application of economics and its theory in
these universities, my skills on handling the real life economical problems of all
economic backward class of people of India become truth.

About myself:-

Academically, I have always been regarded as brilliant, having been My objective and
dream is to achieving best Micro-credit model for developing country like India. While
serving for rural areas, I was very much involved in designing an innovative Micro-
credit/Micro-finance model as well as marketing the same for best suited &
economically backward class of people of the society. Analyzing the government’s
economic policy at state and central level has become my passion. I particularly
enjoyed the ineffable feeling of triumph when I realize there is major rectification
required. My passion of Economics & Statistics led me to choose Economics as my
undergraduate major followed by Master in Economics from TMBU, One of the premier
and heritage college of India. Besides these, I did my M.B.A in Marketing & Finance
from a premier Technical University in order to sharpen my skill and get exposure in
practical aspect of the subject. This course helped me to be more focused on
application side with a blend of mathematical theory, Statistics, Banking/Public finance
and Econometrics.
awarded first class certificates throughout my school and university education. Why
Economics? Jacques Hadamard’s words may be an appropriate answer “It is important
for him who wants to discover not to confine himself to one chapter of science but to
keep in touch with various others”.

During my Master's program I equipped myself as best as I could, with various tools
used in Economic analysis. Data analysis, Statistics and practicality of generalized
Linear Models and Regression Analysis with the help of statistical software (SPSS).I
was introduced to Micro & Macro Economics, Banking & Public finance, International
trade, statistics and Mathematical Economics. I found each of them interesting in its
own way. But none of them were as fascinating as Micro-Economics. I am fascinated by
income and distribution model pertaining to micro-economics. I want to develop deeper
into the subject to be able to carry out independent research and analysis by targeting a
specific group of society of developing economy hence my decision to join the Ph.D.
program in the concerned field of micro-economics i.e. Micro-financing at small sample
size.

On behalf of 10 years of sales and marketing experience in all banking products of

public and private sector bank, in the rural & semi urban areas of Jharkhand state of
India, I realized that, financial support provided by Micro-credit Company is not good
from many points of view; hence the role of the Government becomes ever so
important. Well researched government policy in the provision of human capital as well
as to utilize their skill at most level is one area I would like to explore, because this can
have serious repercussions on our overall Income growth performance. In fact, one of
the most intriguing findings pertaining to inter-regional growth experience of India has
been the steady divergence in growth rates over the years. This suggests that there are
inherent dissimilarities in the economic structures of the disparate states. By running
cross-section regression, many factors have been identified – some of which being
particular to the Indian context like the incidence of castes. But even after controlling for
these variables, conditional convergence seems to be eluding us. I wish to examine this
problem, with the hope of coming up with some plausible answers.

My project topics during my Master Degree was “Living standard of economically

backward class people of rural areas and what are their major activities of the income
generation.” and during Internship at Tata Motors Ltd Company for developing the
model of Marketing of their various products mainly in semi urban and rural area has
given me an opportunity to collect relevant data and transforming the same to practical
aspect. Later on while working for Banking sector from last ten years, I have presented
a paper at national seminar ”Convergence of marketing in era of developing
economy” demarcates my whole-hearted interest in micro-economics and its applicable
areas.
Dissemination:-

During my research program the method of communication among peers, colleagues,

sponsors and supervisor will be very real, practical and regular, due to this I can
enhance and equip myself with required knowledge. Besides this another most
important activities required is paper presentation in national or college seminar, journal
publication, participation in exhibition as well as presenting case study .

Al these are possible when I will be in regular touch of supervisor, so that he can guide
as well as provide good sources of information to carry out research as well as all sort
of seminar at multi-level. Through the help of supervisor I can not only get an
opportunity to learn but also will get a chance to meet with so many experts of my
concerned field.
