quantity demand from its customers. The customers had low confidence in Toyota’s car brand and
felt it was unsafe to drive the car; this negatively impacted their demand. As a result of this crisis
(determinant), the demand curve of Toyota company’s brand shifted to the left, which implies that
the demand dropped. This also affected the supply quantity of the company in the sense that supply
quantity went down thus (supply curve shifted left). In response to this, the equilibrium quantity
decreased. Besides, less product of this brand was less demanded then at every price. In the year
2011, Toyota company faced another national disaster crisis of earthquake in Japan, killing more
than 20,000 people. Due to sacrifice within the natural disaster, there was a population decrease
that affected the demand quantity of the company’s brands to its customers (the curve of demand
shifting to the left) which was accompanied by supply quantity dropping (the curve of supply
shifting to the left)thus decrease in quantity equilibrium and rise in price equilibrium.
