‘ighting tives 29 January 2020 Assalamualaikum wr wb Dear Parents/ Guardians, REPORTED CASES OF HAND, FOOT, MOUTH DISEASE (HFMD) Kindly be informed that we have 4 new case(s) of HFMD. The affected child was from Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten 2 and has last attended school on Friday, 24 January 2020. Both ECDA and MOH been notified of the case and we are jointly monitoring the situation closely. All of the necessary precautions have been taken to prevent the further spread of the HFMD within the centre. What are the symptoms of HEMD Fever lasting 2-3 days Sore throat and/or runny nose Mouth ulcers ‘Small fluid- filled blisters on the hands (especially palms}, feet and diaper areas, Vomiting and/or diarrhoea Tiredness and weakness Medical Certification (MC) Children diagnosed with any infectious disease such as HFMD should be kept away from the centre until the expiry of the Medical Certificate (MC) duration as given by the doctor and when symptoms of the disease are no longer present. Re-certification by a medical practitioner is not required for a child to return to the centre, if the MC period is over and the child does not exhibit any symptom of illness. However, if the child exhibits any symptoms of the illness and there are doubts over the child’s health conditions, centres may request parents to refer the child to a ‘medical practitioner for further assessment and certificate of fitness to return to the centre, Preventive measures taken by the centre ‘* Thorough health screenings consisting of temperature-taking and body screening for ulcers, blisters, red spots ‘or bumps conducted three times daily ‘Children who are sick or seen with ulcers, blisters, red spots or bumps will be sent home immediately ‘* All toys, furniture and fittings in the centre are washed twice a week and disinfected daily Stack cots are disinfected every day before and after nap time * Disinfection of physical environment, in and around the school twice daily * Children taught the proper hand washing method by the teachers + Teachers will remain in their own classrooms to cut chances of inter-contamination between the classes © Cessation of all communal activities Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura (PPIS) Head Office: Bik 1 Eunos Crescent #01-2509 Singapore 400001 ns01ss FE wines @ rossa Floris s Soo" ~ NSS Pris Lighting tives We seek parents’ co-operation in ensuring that your child do not play indiscriminately at playgrounds during weekends and to refrain from going to crowded areas for the next few weeks. We encourage parents to keep a close watch on their child if they have persistent fevers and have diarthea or vomiting. Do also ensure your child washes his/her hands with soap whenever they come home from outdoors, before their meal, after coughing or sneezing. We would like to remind all parents whose children are not feeling well to seek immediate medical attention and to allow them to rest at home until certified medically fit to attend school.
