the use of advanced tools and techniques found in common productivity and software applications in developing ICT
content for specific professional tracks
Performance Standard:
The learners shall be able to:
at the end of the 2-week period independently apply advanced productivity tools to create or develop ICT content for
use in specific professional tracks
These may be in the form of, but not limited to:
1. Calculating spread sheet of athletic statistics (Sports)
2. Layout of catalogue of creative works (Arts)
3. Materials/ ingredients projections for batches of baked goods (Tech- Voc)
4. Letterhead/ business card design (Business/ Academic)

1. Use some advanced capabilities of MS Word commonly used to increase productivity and efficieny;
2. Effectively use these features to help improve the productivity of an organization through maximizing the
potential of MS Word
3. Create form letters or documents for distribution to various recipients;
4. Create labels and envelopes for distribution; and
5. Create media rich- documents for printing or publishing

1. From the scenario, describe briefly how you would most likely complete the task of sending ten
invitations with individual names of recipients using MS Word.
2. Give examples of documents that you can personalize or send or distribute.

1. The teacher will present the objectives of the lesson. He will define mail merging and show examples of
document to be merged.

Form Document
The document that contains the main body of the message we want to convey or send.

This is where the individual information or data that needs to be plugged in (merged) to our form
document is placed and maintained.

What is Mail Merge

It creates a blank form document that simulates either a blank label or envelope of pre-defined size and
will use the data file that you selected to print the information, typically, individual addresses.

will use the data file that you selected to print the information, typically, individual addresses.

Discuss how to integrate pictures and external materials

a) Pictures. Generally, these are electronic or digital pictures or photographs you have saved in any
local storage device.
b) Clip Art. This is generally a .GIF type; line art drawings or images used as generic representation
for ideas and objects that you might want to integrate in your document.
c) Shapes. These are printable objects or materials that you can integrate in your document to
enhance its appearance or to allow you to have some tools to use for composing and
representing ideas or messages.
d) Smart Art. Generally, these are predefined sets of different shapes grouped together to form
ideas that are organizational or structural in nature.
e) Chart. Another type of material that you can integrate in your Word document that allows you to
represent data characteristics and trends.
f) Screenshot. Sometimes, creating reports or manuals for training or procedure will require the
integration of a more realistic image of what you are discussing on your report or manual.

1. Ask the students to test the step by step procedure in mail merge
2. Explain the procedure.

their invitation

4. They will be graded on the design and functionality of the mail merge
