Lesson Plan in English

Grade 7
January 27 & 28, 2020

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
 Describe several of the obstacles overcome by Helen Keller.
 Write a movie review using a template
 Identify adversity in their own lives and think about their views of
dealing with it and/or ways of overcoming it.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: The Story of Helen Keller

Materials: Laptop, paper, pencils or ball pen,

D. Motivation
The teachers will ask the students to bring out a piece of paper, and a ball
pen or pencil. Afterwards, the students will blindfold themselves and listen
carefully to what the teacher will instruct. The teacher will give the students
step by step instruction to draw themselves while they are blindfolded.
Motive Question
1. What difficulties did you encounter while doing the activity?
2. Are you satisfied for what you have accomplished?
3. Do you feel useless for not using one of your senses? Why?
E. Lesson Proper
 Give a brief overview of Helen Keller's life, adversities and
contributions.
 Film Viewing

IV. ACTIVITY
The students will write a movie review about “The story of Helen Keller” using
the template that will be given by the teacher
V. APPLICATION
Group the class into four, put up some of Helen Keller’s quotes and assign
it to each group. Have groups designate a spokes-person to explain the
group's reasoning.

Group 1: “We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only
joy in the world”
Group 2: “Face your deficiencies and acknowledge them; but do not let
them master you. Let them teach you patience, sweetness, insight.”
Group 3: “I would rather walk with a friend in the dark, than alone in the
light.”
Group 4: “Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I
learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content”

VI. EVALUATION
The teacher will ask the following questions:

1. What struggles did you encounter in your lives, and how did you overcome
it?
2. If you could ask Helen Keller one question, what would it be and why?
