1. What are the Resources, Capabilities, and Core Competencies require to compete to the
street food market segment?
Resources : Make a good reliation with customers, food’s sources, and aso with the
staffs
Capabilities : Cleanness, make a unique plating, manage the time, trained staffs
Core Competencies : Provide Customer’s wants (better than before), provide clean food
& plates and also the cutlery
2. SWOT Analysis :
S: -Provide clean food and healthy food,
-High profits by NAU students who wanted reasonably priced late night food
O: -Provide delivery catering/ delivery food that makes Wills grill more reachable
to customers
T: -If the truck suddenly broke then we can’t sell the foods
3. How do the necessary competencies, resources, and capabilities compare between the
street market segment, and the new market segment catering?
Catering will need more staff to work and need to have a good idea how to make the
business runs and need a leadership to manage multiply people (because catering
means that we have to provide more people)
Advantage : The margin will grill catering will larger then selling just in food truck, if just
in food truck then not as big as the catering because the margin is not good enough.
B. Which ones are transferable from the street food segment in the catering segment?
- In general, Street Food can be done individually but Catering don’t
- Margin will grow up more higher
- Have a characteristic as leadership because we have much staff now.
C. What gaps exist is John decides to enter into the catering segment?
- Have learn to be a good leader
- Compete each other
- Take a risk in making decisions because catering is need more modals then
Street Food (risky)
D. How might John acquire and / or develop the missing core competencies, resources, and / or
capabilities if he enters into the catering segment?
- As times goes by, John will learn from experiences and from the other
catering too.
Comparison : We think he needs to make a new segment / catering because street food not long last
and the margin is not higher as catering, if John want to develop more, he has to open the catering
segment
