Dear Parent/Guardians,

Welcome back from Summer holidays!

My name is Carly Williamson, I am a 4th Year Murdoch University student studying a Bachelor of Primary

N
Education, majoring in Health & Physical Education (Years 1-10). In January 2018 I was privileged to receive
a New Columbo Plan Scholarship to teach in rural Thailand for 1 month. From August 2018- June 2019 I
lived in France as a professional athlete and coach developing programs for junior athletes and teaching
English to both junior and senior athletes of the club.

In 2020, I have been given the pleasure of being a Pre-Service Teacher alongside Miss Howard in your
child’s Year 2 classroom for Terms 1 and 2.

I will be taking on numerous roles within the classroom; co-teaching

alongside Miss Howard, planning/teaching lessons, gradually
progressing into full-time teaching in Term 2. This both excites and
daunts me as I myself teach, learn and grow throughout the
duration of my time within the classroom.

I aim to teach in a diverse, collaborative environment conducive to

student learning, build relationships with students to understand
their personal learning needs and set learning goals aligned with
the curriculum to progress each individual student and the class as
a whole.

I have always had a passion for being a leader and coaching/teaching, where I am given opportunities to
share my knowledge and skills with others, as well as learn from mentors and students/athletes in a
continuously evolving environment. I enjoy the challenge of teaching and the reward and gratitude of
those “light-bulb moments”.

I am excited and looking forward to working with your child and all the students within the class. I also
look forward to meeting with yourself over the coming school terms.
