Level of Agreement Towards Premarital Sex of The Polytechnic State College of Antique
The chapter discusses the research method in the conduct of the study on the level of agreement towards
premarital sex of the Polytechnic State College of Antique, College of Teacher Education Students during
academic year 2007- 2008.
RESEARCH DESIGN
The investigation utilized the descriptive method of research. According to Calderon and Gonzales (1993),
it is a method of research which involves collection of data in order to test the hypothesis or to answer
question concerning the current status of the subject under study. It is also designed to help determine the
extent to which different variables are related to each other in the population of interest.
RESEARCH METHOD
This part section described the subjects of the study, sources of data-gathering instruments and
procedures as well as data analysis.
The subjects of the study were the two hundred ten (210), college of teacher education students of the
Polytechnic State College of Antique during academic year 2007-2008. Out of the total population of four
hundred forty (440), two hundred ten were selected randomly.
The sample size was determined using the Slovins (1976)
RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS
The instruments used in the study was a self administered questionaire to assess the level of agreement
towards premarital sex of the Polytechnic State College of Antique, College of Teacher Education students
during academic year 2007-2008. It is a checklist to find out the relationship between the variables and the
said problem.
The researchers secured the permission of the dean of college of teacher education of Polytechnic State
College of Antique to conduct the study. The researchers personally administered the checklist
questionnaire to the randomly rejected college of teacher education students.
