Hyderabad --> Suryapet --> Khammam --> Kothagudem --> Bhadrachalam --> Chinturu --> Maredumilli

Hyderabad - Bhadrachalam - Maredumilli. This is more than 100 kms shorter than original route. However, this
road must be done only during day time, and should be done only when one plans to reaches Maredumilli before 7
PM. In this stretch, there is a stretch of 50kms between Chinturu and Maredumilli which is through deep jungles.
Apparently, this is area sees a lot of wild animals. Also, around these areas are Agency Areas (Naxalite areas).

Maredumilli

My choice was Via Bhadrachalam. Most scenic of the both.

Hyderabad to Vijayawada: 4-lane, toll road
Vijayawada to Rajahmundry: 4-lane, toll road but poorly maintained, expect some potholes
Rajahmundry to Maredumilli: 2-lane, average and scenic road

Rampachodavaram -> Bhupathipalem Reservoir -> Vana Vihari cottage -> Towards Chinturu ( on the Bhadrachalam
highway) -> Jalatarangini Waterfalls -> Tiger Camp/Night camp -> Karthikavanam -> Medicinal plants information

Places to visit in Maredumilli

 Jalatharangini waterfalls - At a distance of 7 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand. One needs to walk 150 m to
reach the falls from the entry point which takes 30 minutes. 1-2 Hours 8 AM - 6 PM Rs. 10 for Person
 Manyam View Point - At a distance of 13 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand between Jalatharangini
waterfalls and Amruthadhara waterfalls.
 Amruthadhara waterfalls - At a distance of 15 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand. One needs to climb down a
steep pathway of 1 km to reach the waterfalls from the entrance. It will take 1 hour to visit the falls. 2

Places to visit Rampachodavaram

 Rampa Waterfalls - At a distance of 4 km from Rampachodavaram village and 29 km from Maredumilli.

The waterfall is located in a dense jungle and can be accessed by jeeps. It will be a 20 minutes climb to
reach the main waterfall. 2 Hours SS. 8 AM - 5 PM Rs. 10 for Person
 Temple of Lord Shiva named Sri Neelakanteswara temple near the Rampachodavaram waterfalls.
 Bhupathipalem reservoir - At a distance of 4 km from Rampachodavaram Bus Stand and 21 km from
Maredumilli. 1 Hour Boating: 10 AM - 5 PM
