This unit is equipped with the AUTOMATIC STAND BYGREEN POWER:

At the end of analysis and when the instrument is not performing analysis, the
cooling compressors are automatically put in stand-by mode, this will save power
and increase the compressor’s lifespan.

The stand-by mode is automatically resumed by launching a new analysis, so after

resuming the stand by mode, the analyser could need 2 to 4 minutes to re-engage
both cooling compressors and start to cool (it depends on how long the unit has
been in stand-by mode), since this procedure is completely automatic and does no
need any user intervention, the user will only notice a reduced global noise when
the compressors are put in stand-by while the fan will remain on.

AUTOMATIC STAND BY GREEN POWER features synopsis:

√ Power saving
√ Fast stand-by resume
√ Completely automatic (does no need any kind of user intervention)
√ Compressors lifespan dramatically increased

Low Temperature Viscosity Bath instrument description

The Low Temperature instrument is dedicate to be use in laboratory. It is equipped

with a built in Panel PC with touch screen and the relevant applications software.

The technical particularity used in the Low Temperature range, is in the cooling mode
of the test room, the defrost system, the integrated light barriers, the panel pc with
managing software.

In the case of the Low Temperature, the gas directly cool the test chamber of approx.
30 litres. The important volume grant optimal bath stability on the chamber.
The unit at the power on will start only the first motor compressor, than after few
minutes the second motor will start. This procedure grant lower spikes generation and
Reduced power consumption.

- Saving cost in electrical supply

- Less space taken by the assembly cooling unit / analyser
- Efficient cooling system. It takes approximately 8 hours to reach about -75°C
from the ambient temperature of +20°C.
- The start-up is very easy and requests only the power source plug. There is no
other fitting. This avoids the danger to pump an inflammable fluid.
- An instrument of the Low Temperature range consists in one box including:
- A cooling assembly with 1or 2 stages compressors allows reaching, inside the
room -45 or -80°C.
- Panels, fixed with screws, allows the access inside the structure for easy
maintenance access.

DELIVERY CONDITION AND PROCEDURE OF INSTRUMENTS

The Linetronic Technologies instruments are controlled according our internal quality
control procedures. The components quality as the component assembly are
controlled and tested before the assembling of the instrument. The components
checks are done in function of their own specificity.

Once the instrument is assembled, it goes through a first test of general functionality
control, allowing to verify if every device works properly in accordance with its
expected functions.

Then the measurement devices are electronically calibrated according to the physical
parameters that they must quantify and to the measurement scales defined for each
application.

Finally the instrument is tested with a certified reference sample on the parameter
that we want to measure. These tests are done according our internal procedure. The
test results are consigned in the manual delivered with the instrument.

The instrument is referring to the normalized methods where, the product nature
which has to be tested as well as the procedure to follow, are clearly defined. The
certified reference samples used for the final tests respond to these characteristics.

We recommend to perform the start-up only with certified reference sample.

Any discrepancy on the results found on other products, must be done only on the
basis of certified reference sample. We kindly ask the customer to send us this
sample with its certificate. Linetronic Technologies SA will immediately undertake an
act procedure for the control and, if necessary, the correction.

6d. CALIBRATION

OFFSET
SETTING

The graph will show the sensor reading in real time in both Value and Volt, the calibration shape
represented by the black ascending line is the actual graphic representation of the calibration itself,
where the white circles are spotting the provided calibration points.
The calibration can be performed on each single point of the curve, meaning that each single degree of
the scale can be calibrated and fine tuned up to 100 individual calibration points.
By default, the five calibration points shown are the reference calibration points, they can be
tuned/recalibrated as needed , but unlike the user-defined calibration points we are about to describe,
they cannot be removed; the calibration of an existing reference point can be performed by both a
resistor box or by the mean of an external comparison thermometer, provided a common temperature
media between the comparison thermometer and the probe to calibrate in case of the bath temperature,
in case of the force, you can use an external dynamometer to calibrate the force cell.
There is two method to calibrate each sensor :
1. Advanced Calibration;

2. Calibration Wizard;

MADE IN SWITZERLAND
LT/VB-47445-SA USER MANUAL N-0000-47445-000 Page 22

ADVANCE CALIBRATION OF BATH

As mentioned, the calibration can be standard ( five points) or dynamic (up to 100 points, dynamically
added); performed by mean of a resistor box or by a reference temperature, by using a resistor box it is
necessary to unplug the sample’s PT100 from the board and then connect the resistor box on the
revealed socket; to perform the calibration by mean of an reference thermometer, will be necessary to
provide a suitable temperature media as a beaker filled by a liquid, or poured liquid into the heating
bath (1) so that both probe to calibrate and reference thermometer are measuring the same
temperature media.
(1) A note of caution: by using as reference an external thermometer to calibrate the bath, ensure to
maintain the temperature at a stable point for an extended amount of time (3~5 minutes) to allow
the stabilization and balancing of the mass of the stove’s temperature.

MADE IN SWITZERLAND
LT/VB-47445-SA USER MANUAL N-0000-47445-000 Page 23

Once the desired calibration temperature has been reached then it is necessary to introduce it prior to
confirm the calibration point; in the following example we are introducing a new calibration spot, please
note that the operation is identical while updating an existing calibration point.

The new calibration point has been added by mean of the Add Calibration Point button, a new white spot
is appeared on the curve
and the buttons on the
bottom row are showing
the new -65 value, the 50
value is not currently
visible but will be shown
by touching the rightmost
button in the same row.

Note how the leftmost

button of the first row is
changed from Update
Calibration point to Add
Calibration… then back
to Update… between the
3 stages of the calibration
sequence: on the topmost
picture the selected calibration spot (the central box) was 0, so any action will have updated the 0°C
calibration point, by moving the calibration value to -65, which was not present as calibration spot, the
button changed it’s caption to Add Calibration… to underline that touching the button will cause the
introduction of a new calibration point instead of updating an existing one; the leftmost button which is
not empty only in the last shown picture, is meant to remove/forget an existing calibration point.

MADE IN SWITZERLAND
LT/VB-47445-SA USER MANUAL N-0000-47445-000 Page 24

As shown in the picture above, five calibration points were added; as mentioned, it is possible to
introduce up to 95 individual calibration spots in addition to the 5 reference points for a total of 100
calibration points.

Pay Attention :
The calibration of the sensor must be perform in Celsius degree scale.

CALIBRATION PROCEDURE IN SHORT:

By a resistor box:
o Unplug the probe to calibrate
o Plug the resistor box
o Regulate the resistor box to the desired calibration temperature
o Regulate the value shown in the cyan box to the corresponding temperature
o Press the Update Calibration point button for an existing calibration point or the Add new
calibration point if the calibration point is not present
o Repeat for all the calibration points desired.
o Reconnect the probe

8. FIRST ANALYSIS Step by Step

Once the analysis has been setup as described in previous chapter, the START ANALYSIS button
present in the main panel can be pressed.

Automatically the software starts to regulate the bath at the highest chosen temperature between all the
analysis in progress.
The status each test place is showed under its name.

Play means that the soak time has

begun.
Pause means that the soak time is
waiting to reach the desired
temperature.
Stop means that the test is finished.

Now the button that previously was named START ANALYSIS becomes now STOP ANALYSIS.

Now the operator can load the sample and wait until the soak time will expire. Once the temperature is
reached, the soak time starts automatically.

NOTE:

inform the finish of soak time. In this panel will be displayed the most important information as : place,
temperature of the test, soak time, file name and operator.

By pressing start, the software will show a keyboard allowing the operator to introduce the result. If a
typing mistake occurs, please press again Start and modify the result. After pressing finish, the analysis
