Pleasure to be here today hosting an event on diabetes, a topic close to my

heart.

I’m very happy to welcome to the European parliament 3 distinguished guests.

I’d like to welcome our first speaker Adrian Sanders, former Lib Dem MP and

Secretary General of the Parliamentarians Diabetes Global Network.

Our next speaker is Claudette Buttigieg, Deputy Speaker of the Maltese
