Prerequisites: Knowledge of Basic of electric and electronics and electronic Devices theory.

Course Objectives: understand digital system , necessity of number system, Boolean


algebra in digital system, simplification of Boolean expression using Karnugh - map and
analyse and compare combination circuit and sequential circuit

Course Outcomes:
At the end of the course, the students will be able to
1.Understand the basics of digital system.
2. Understand the number systems and their arithmetic
3. Asses the logic gates
4. Realize logic expression using gates
5. Design the concepts of Boolean algebra and simplify using Karnaugh’s map
6. Design and develop the combinational and sequential logic circuits

operation:Addition, Subtraction (using 1’s and 2’s
complementarithmetic),Multiplication. Octal, and
Hexadecimalsystem.Study ASCII &Gray codes with their
applications,Convert Binary to Gray, and Gray to Binary.

Definition,Study the symbol, truth table, and logic expression

immunity

SHIFT REGISTERS: Introduction to registers,Mention the various types of
