REPUBLIC ACT NO. 69698

Students Welfare on Campus


AN ACT CONCERNING THE WELFARE AND WELL BEING OF STUDENTS ON CAMPUS. THIS
ARTICLE FOCUSES ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF STUDENTS FOR THEM TO PERFORM AT
OPTIMAL CONDITIONS TO BOOST THEIR PERFORMANCES MENTALLY, SOCIALLY, PHYSICALLY,
AND ENHANCE THEIR OUTPUT ACADEMICALLY. THIS ACT IS TO INCLUDE IN THE CURRICULA
OF ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND UNIVERSITIES.

WHEREAS, today, more than any other period of our history, there is a need for our students to
enjoy their teenage life, without stress and worries, most especially they are still on the point of
growing and developing into an individual for the future of our country;

WHEREAS, it is helpful that in giving them time for themselves and for fun, they can remember
that school is not just about having good grades. It is also where they should gain wisdom that
they can use in the battles of life.

WHEREAS, students will gain inspiration and interest in learning and in going to school. They
would not see the school as a place to fear but instead, it’s a place for them to consider as their
second home aside from their real home.

WHEREAS, all educational institutions are under the supervision of, and subject to regulation by
the State, and all schools are enjoined to develop personal discipline, being friendly to other
people, and teach the duties of a good student; Now, therefore,

SECTION 1. No student shall be deprived of sleep, meal, and chance to participate at school
activities. Giving a lot of tasks and homework to students will neglect their chance of rest and
made them forget to eat three meals each day. Subject to limitation when it’s already their
choice to not sleep, eat any meal, and will not participate on school activities.
SECTION 2. No student shall undergo three long quizzes in a day. The tendency is that
everything they know will just be words and will not serve as a lesson for them to use on their
future careers.

SECTION 3. Students who are excused, in, and out of the campus on official business related to
the school, shall have a right to request for special sessions from the teachers, wherein they will
be discussed regarding the lessons they were learning inside the classroom while he/she is out.

SECTION 4. Students with failing grades or under the standards of being an honor student on
the previous quarter, shall enjoy a chance of being in the honors list on the following quarter.
