3-DAY SCHOOL BASED TRAINING ON CAMPUS

JOURNALISM FOR STUDENT-WRITERS

TRAINING DESIGN

I. RATIONALE:

The Campus Journalism Act of 1991 has served as the pillar of press freedom even at the
campus level which promotes responsible citizenship among our Filipino young writers. Among
these young and budding journalists will emerge a new generation of writers who will be
vanguards of truth and freedom of expressions. More so, this is one way of honing the skills and
talents of our young students towards their pursuit for excellence in the field of journalism from
Province of South Cotabato.

In this light, the conceptualization of the Campus Journalism Training for the students of
Jose D. Escobillo National High School was given birth. A group of competent school paper
advisers, who have undergone regional and national trainings and have achieved notable names
in school press conference; will mold the neophyte student-writers of Jose D. Escobillo National
High School and Miasong Elem. School (selected grade six pupils).
