Reviving the past glory
Forman Christian College has a rich history. It has contributed leaders to
all walks of life. Amongst its distinguished alumni are the first chief
justice of Pakistan, two former presidents, a prime minister, an attorney
general and numerous ambassadors and ministers attorney generals and
numerous ambassadors and ministers. FCC also fostered the work of Dr,
Arthur Compton, the 1929 Nobel laureate in physics an equally
impressive list of leaders can be compiled in the fields of education,
business, law, medicine, arts and entertainment. Since the FCC’s
privatization and the grant of university status, ample development work
has been carried out on the campus. New teaching blocks have been
constructed and more buildings are on the cards. But the edifice alone is
not note worthy. It is the vision and commitment of its Rector Dr Peter
H Armacost that is fast leading the college towards glory that is prides
itself on. This vision is reflected in everything related to the college,
from the students to the faculty and the curriculum to the results. There
is no shred of doubt that today the college is a premium institution of
Pakistan that imparts the latest in every discipline. Its brilliant faculty
plays individual attention to each student in the class rooms and in their
extra-curricular activities to under the motto of “By love serve one
another”. Given the college’s pace of progress, it could be compared
with the best in the world in the coming years. One can say the college
has an ideal today and it is destined to have glorious tomorrow.
