ECONOMICS

ROI Computation:

Please try to compute year 1 income/ total cost to get

the ROI. The Quotient will be placed in the executive
summary.

Only electricity cost was considered. How about

water cost? Does the cattle will not drink water?

Six months after the date of purchase, fattened cattle

should weigh approximately 275kg to 325kg and be
ready for market (www.da.gov.ph) Is the production
volume with PRDP of 420kg/cattle is achievable? Is
this not too ambitious? What is special in this
proposal to arrive in this kilogram? And please take
note that the proposal will consider only for 4 months
for three cycle.

Marketing Strategy:

‘’After the requested livelihood project is approved,

the proponent group will already establish contact
supplier of the stock and with volume buyer of
fattened cattle in Banga South Cotabato to be shipped
to Manila, so that there will not be a problem in
marketing of stocks when they are to be disposed’’. –
Proponent will establish links/buyers in order to
approve the project or after the approval of the
project? Which do comes first?

The proponent contact price to the buyer is Php.

90.00/kilo who are the buyers? What is the basis for
this pricing?
RESOURCES NEEDED:
‘’Gathering sweet corn stalk to other members and
non-members considering supplemental forage of the
stock where some of the populace of the barangay
planting sweet corn as another source of income for
the farmers. The animals will be fed roughages,
pineapple pulp and farm by-products available in the
area that are rejects from the nearby plantation.
Other farm by-products like rice straw, ipil-ipil leaves,
kakawate, rensoni, napier, paragrass and other
legumes may also be used as feeding. The cattle also
need some quantity of salt dissolved in a pail of clean
water.’’
 these must be quantified, priced and presented in a
tabular presentation as to the quantity needed per
roughage, the price. These are part of the direct
material for cattle fattening.

It was stated that the preferred breed for cattle is

Brahman. However, it was not stated where to get
these supply.

It was stated that the growing cycle of the cattle is 4

months but in the cattle farming calendar
presentation is just 3 months. If the growing cycle of
the cattle is 4 months and purchase cycle is 1 month
and 1 month for disposing them. Then, all in all, in 1
year there is 2 cycle only. Since it would entail 6
months per cycle for cattle fattening.

Number of Heads to be fattened:

Table 18: = 90 heads in 1 year
Executive summary = 30 heads annual
Price per unit of fattened cattle is equivalent to
Php37,800, is this not too expensive? What is the
basis for this pricing?

Table 7: Comparative Analysis of individual Income:

Need to establish the baseline data per variable
shown in this table- the calculation how did you arrive
these numbers.

Table 16. Labor fees for 1 cycle:

Does the activities under this table doesn’t require

laborers? If it will require laborers, why is it that it was
not included in the inventory of jobs generation?

Also, the under operational plan, are those listed job

positions are not part of the jobs generation with and
without PRDP?

Net Income per Cattle = 29, 614.41. Is this not so

high? Take note per cattle. The profit per cattle is
equal to Php37,800. The total Production cost is 27,
928. 53. How come that the net income per cattle
now is that much?

What Composes Cattle biologics worth 39,000?

All computations must establish a breakdown per

variable. In order to verify the claim and to counter
check what composes per variable.

No Submitted Reply for the previous comments.

Financial Assumptions on page 15 (BP) must include
based on _____. This will apply per assumption. The
data source must be provided/cited in the statement.
If you know the year of that assumption, you may
include also.

Specific Objectives:
Please quantify the individual farmers’ income. (from
Php_____ to Php____ (5%).

Quantify the volume increase of cattle in the

community. (from ____heads to _____heads)

It was mentioned on page 5 that the PG will be

fattened the steers for four months for three cycle.
However, in table 4. Month 5 will be the fattened
month. If so, how we achieve 3 cycles in a year? Also,
does it really take 1 month for purchasing? Where is
the location of the raw materials? Is it that far

Purchase Cost Sheet:

No footnote as to the purchase cost of the cattle:
No concrete basis as to the increase of purchase cost
per annum by 5%.

Income Statement V2:

Cost per particulars must be linked.

Direct Mats Sheet:

Unit prices for all raw materials must cite data
sources.
No link for Cattle Biologics.
Who identified the quantity of raw materials?
What is the basis for the increase of 5% per year?

Production Overhead Sheet:

No concrete basis as to the fuel consumption per
liters. How it was determined? Number of kilometers
must be identified first in order to conclude the fuel
consumption.
Did not observe proper linking as to the fixed assets.
Who identified the EUL per asset?
Projected Sales:
No footnote.
Please use formula for the total sale.

Income statement Sheet:

Did not practice linking.

Another ROI was computed. Which ROI will prevail?
ROI 1 = 40.23%
ROI 2 = 30.91
Is the ROI 2 is not the ROI for the cooperative? If not,
why it was reported in the Executive summary if the
ROI of the Cooperative is 30.91%.
Please link the numbers being reported in this
particular sheet

30 heads to be fattened = EFA
27 heads to be fattened = BP

• Allowed under Para 4 of NPCO Memo dated 15 July

2016 re Guidelines on the Collaboration among PRDP
Components and Units in the Formulation of Value
Chain Analyses, Commodity Investment Plans and
Business Plans which states that “…Based on the
foregoing, all new enterprise subprojects, including
micro-enterprises should be based on VCAs and
aligned with the priorities in the PCIP. However, World
Bank recognized that PRDP has established
procedures and mechanism to respond to declared
disasters and calamities. Hence, a maximum of
US$9million (10%) of loan funds allocated to Sub-
Component 3.1 was allowed to be used to fund
micro-enterprises that are not aligned with the
priorities established in the PCIPs.”
• PRDP is now veering away from providing livelihood
projects but on microenterprise. Pages5 and 7,
however, mentions of PRDP providing Small
Livelihood Project (SLP) to the PG.

The approximate weigh of 275kg to 325kg is

for the buying weight to be purchase by the
enterprise for their production. The
420kg/cattle is achievable because the cattle
will be fattened for 4 months with enough
supply of foods, nutrients and vitamins. Also,
with proper monitoring with the help of PRDP
project

A matrix as to the demand was provided as

seen on table 4 page 12. No established
supplier in the area.

The bases were already improved. See on EFA

There is no need to quantify, priced and
presented as to the quantity needed per
roughage, etc. because the mentioned crops
were just a supplemental resource needed and
these were already rejected by the nearby
plantation. It is for free and the enterprise will
just talk to the owner to get the rejected crops
for the consumption of the cattle. There is no
need to buy this resources

The preferred Brahman will be bought in the

nearby places as to its availability within the
region and if still there is a shortage to nearby
regions. A list of supplier will get from
different OPAG and will have to contact them.

fattening. Things were already change to

The data were changed and the number of

The price of P39,900 is not expensive because
the cattle fattened has a quality and the fatter
the cattle will be, the more expensive it will
be. The P39,900 was based on a conservative
price for the market and set by the enterprise
