Application of One-sample T Test

During the last five years, it had been established in Pangasinan I that the Mathematics

achievement of high school students in the division is 81.56%. This year, a random sample of 50

students obtained the following scores (see table for math scores data) in the standardized

achievement test in Mathematics. Is there a significant improvement in the Mathematics

achievement of the high school students in Pangasinan?

Hypothesis: There is no significant difference between the Mathematics Achievement of

the students and the division standard at the .05 level of significance?

EXERCISE # 2

Application of Independent-samples T Test

Two random samples, one of mother high school students and another of barangay high

school students were given an achievement test in English. Is there a significant difference

between the achievements in English of the two groups of students (see table for data)?

Hypothesis: There is no significant difference between the Achievements in English of

the mother and barangay high school students at the .05 level of significance?
