3.HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYE Exposure can cause irreversible eye damage. Symptoms may include stinging, tearing, redness,
swelling, corneal damage, and blindness.
SKIN Exposure can cause irreversible skin damage. Symptoms may include redness, swelling, burns,
and severe skin damage.
SWALLOWING Exposure may be harmful or fatal. Symptoms may include severe stomach and intestinal
irritation (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), abdominal pain, and vomiting of blood. Swallowing this material
may cause burns and destroy tissue in the mouth, throat, and digestive tract. Low blood pressure and
shock may occur as a result of severe tissue injury.
INHALATION Exposure to vapor or mist is possible. Exposure may be harmful or fatal. Symptoms may
include severe irritation and burns to the nose, throat and respiratory tract.
SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE No data
TARGET ORGAN EFFECTS No data
DEVELOPMENTAL
INFORMATION
No data
CANCER INFORMATION This product contains Phosphoric acid. The international agency
for Research on Cancer has listed strong inorganic acid mists containing Phosphoric acid as causing
cancer in humans.
OTHER HEALTH EFFECTS No data
PRIMARY ROUTE (S) OF
ENTRY
Inhalation, skin contact
Cover the contaminated surface with sodium bicarbonate or a soda ash/flaked lime mixture (50-50). Mix
and add water if necessary to form a slurry. Scoop up slurry and wash site with soda ash solution. Proper
mixing procedures are essential. Trained personnel should conduct this procedure. Untrained personnel
should be removed fromthe spill area.
LARGE SPILL
Persons not wearing protective equipment should be excluded from area of spill until
clean-up is completed. Stop spill at source. Dike to prevent spreading. Pump to salvage
tank.
7.HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices.
These practices include avoiding unnecessary exposure and removal of material from eyes, skin and
clothing.
Emptied containers retain vapour and product residue. Observe all recommended safety precautions until
container is cleaned, reconditioned or destroyed. The reuse of this material's container for non-industrial
purposes is prohibited and any reuse must be in consideration of the data provided in this material safety
data sheet.
Storage:
Temperature: Under shed and at cool condition
Suitable materials of construction: glass lining; PVC; polypropylene; glass-reinforced plastic; polyethylene
Unsuitable materials of construction: carbon steel; aluminum
General: Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed.
Stable under normal conditions of handling and storage
8.EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
EYE PROTECTION Chemical splash goggles and face shield (8” min) in compliance with OSHA
regulations are advised; however, OSHA regulations also permit other type safety glasses.
SKIN PROTECTION Wear resistant gloves such as: neoprene. To prevent skin contact, wear impervious
clothing and boots.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTIONS If workplace exposure limit(s) of product or any component
is exceeded, a NIOSH/MSHA approved air supplied respirator is advised in absence of proper
environmental control. OSHA regulations also permit other NIOSH/MSHA respirators (negative pressure
type) under specified conditions. Engineering or administrative controls should be
implemented to reduce exposure.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust)
ventilation to maintain exposure below TLV’s.
EXPOSURE GUIDELINES COMPONENT: BASED ON PHSPHORIC ACID CONTENT
PHOSPHORIC ACID(7664-93-9)
OSHA VPEL 2.000mg/m3 - TWA
ACGIH TLV 2.000mg/m3 - TWA
ACGIH TLV 6.000mg/m3 - STEL

similar product.
12.ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The assessment below is based on data obtained on this raw materials used and on a related product of
similar composition.(DETMP)
Environmental Toxicity:
Invertebrates 48 h, EC50 Water flea (Daphnia magna) 242 mg/l
Fish: 96 h, LC50 Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) > 180 mg/l
96 h, LC50 Bluegill sunfish (Lepomis macrochirus) 758 mg/l
Algae: 96 h, EC50 Algae (Selenastrum capricornutum) 2 mg/l
Algal growth inhibition is due to ability of this product to complex materials not to
toxicity per se.

Product has a very low toxicity to aquatic life. It is slowly eliminated by abiotic and biological mechanisms
from environment. Release of excessive quantities will upset ecological balance.
13.DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Small quantities may be diluted with water and flushed to a sanitary sewer. Larger quantities may be
neutralized and buried in an approved landfill. However, obey all federal, state or local regulations
