A Narrative Report
Hip-hop is a cultural movement best known for its impact on music in
the form of the musical genre of the same names. It has its origins in the
Bronx, in New York City, during the 1970’s, mostly among African Americans
and some influence of Latin Americans. Hip-hop culture is composed of the
pillars such as DJ-ing, rapping, breakdancing, and graffiti art.
January 10, 2020, as a part of the Grade 10 students’ performance task

GRADE 10 MUSICAL PLAY PERFORMANCE TASK

A Narrative Report
Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs,
spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos,
love, anger – are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the
entertainment as an integrated whole. Although musical theatre overlaps with other theatrical
forms like opera and dance, it may be distinguished by the equal importance given to the music
as compared with the dialogue, movement and other elements. Since the early 20th century,
musical theatre stage works have generally been called, simply, musicals.

The grade 10 students chose to have a Disney Musical Play. The classsroom presidents of

Ms. Vivian B. Compuesto (Glee Club Coordinator), Mrs. Edralyn P. Burgos (MAPEH 8 teacher), Mr.

There are few teachers who witnessed the performance of the grade 10 students.
