Different Bodies Of Water

 Oceans
-Large amount of SALT water that surround a continent.

 Seas
-Large bodies of SALT water that is often connected to an
ocean.
-May be partly or completely surrounded by land.

 Rivers
-Large, flowing bodies of FRESH that usually empty to the
sea or ocean

 Streams
-Small, flowing bodies, of FRESH water that usually flows
into rivers.

 Lakes and Ponds


-Areas of fresh water that are surrounded by land.
-Lakes are larger than ponds.

 Gulf
-A gulf is a large area, into which water from sea or ocean
flows then collects.

 Spring
-A natural source of water coming from underground. It
can be hot or cold.

 Waterfall
-A waterfall is a place where water flows over a vertical
drod or a series of steep drops in the course of a stream
or river.

 Strait
-A narrow body of water that joins 2 larger bodies of
water.
 Bay
-Body of water partly surrounded by land. It is apart of
the sea which has shores and coastlines. Big ships and
boat take shelter in it.
