1. Your PEKA Folio must consist all of the following sub-topic.

2. You are encouraged to use your own creativity to use supporting graphics, illustrations,
photographs and any other method that can highlight the main points.
3. Listed all the reference that you use to complete this Folio.

APPLICATION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

For each type of electromagnetic spectrum, state the

i) type
ii) wavelength sources
iii) characteristic and
iv) application

DETRIMENTAL EFFECTS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

State the detrimental effects of electromagnetic waves for each type of electromagnetic spectrum
below. Explain how those rays can cause the detrimental effects.

i) UV rays
ii) X-rays
iii) Gamma Rays

Applications OF ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

Explain how Electromagnetic waves are use in the following situation:

i. Policeman used radar waves to monitor the speed of cars along the highway road. Suggest how
this device works.
[Radar waves travel at a constant speed and are reflected like other waves]

ii. Why do microwave ovens cook faster than conventional ovens?

iii. How do night-vision goggles work? Explain.
