Stem in its most basic definition, is an educational program developed

to prepare primary and secondary students for college and graduate


study in the fields of science, technology, engineering and
mathematics. This strand enhances our logical thinking. Therefore, we
become more responsive and active in coming up with solutions to a
wide variety of problems through the application and integration of
scientific and mathematical concepts.
STEM education helps to bridge the ethnic and gender gaps sometimes
found in math and science fields. In order to complete in a global
economy, STEM education and careers must be a national priority.
The advantage of STEM do not stop here. It is no hidden fact that we
are now living in a world of technology and science. STEM helps
develop the knowledge of people about these two things, giving them a
place in the ever growing industry of science and making them more
globally competitive in every way possible.
STEM provides a conceptual approach rather than the traditional one. It
allows students to fully understand and analyze the topics rather than
memorize the. It enhances the critical thinking ability of the student
studying it allowing him to be efficient and productive in our society.
STEM also presents a clear set of goals and objectives, allowing
everyone to concentrate and focus more on what career(s) do they
really want in future.
People need to know that STEM’s purpose and the curriculum in
general brings us better benefits and does us more good that what we
could think. It supplies us more professional workers to fill up the
needed labor. It trains us further to the competitive industry, and it will
be the education for generations to come.
