Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for

an extended period of time

Climate change may refer to a change in average weather conditions, or in the time variation of weather
within the context of longer-term average conditions,

The climate change phenomenon refers to seasonal changes over a long period with respect to the
growing accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Climate change, periodic modification of Earth’s climate brought about as a result of changes in
the atmosphere as well as interactions between the atmosphere and various other geologic, chemical,
biological, and geographic factors within the Earth system.

Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by
Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions.

Certain human activities have been identified as primary causes of ongoing climate change, often
referred to as global warming.

Causes Of Climate Change

1. Solar variability
2. Tectonic activity
3. Orbital (Milankovich) variations
4. Orbital (Milankovich) variations
5. Feedback
6. Human activities

Effects of climate change

Change will continue through this century and beyond

Temperatures will continue to rise

Frost-free season (and growing season) will lengthen

Changes in precipitation patterns

More droughts and heat waves

Hurricanes will become stronger and more intense

Sea level will rise 1-4 feet by 2100

Arctic likely to become ice-free
