CHAPTER 3

METHODS AND PROCEDURE

This chapter present the methods to be used in the study. It also describe the subjects of

the study the instruments used, the procedure of data gathering and the statistical treatment of

data.

This study will determine the Effect of Grading System on Students.

Research Design

In this study, the researchers are eager to assimilate the vision of the students in

accordance to the Effect of Grading System on Students With that, the researcher decided to use

qualitative research design.

Qualitative research design is concerned with establishing answers to the whys and hows

of the phenomenon in question, it is often defined as being subjective and finding are gathered in

a written format as opposed to numerical. It’s a research method extensively use by researchers

studying human behavior, opinions,themes and motivations.

In addition, the researchers apply a survey questionnaire in this study. Survey questionnaire is a

set of questions used in a survey, it is a type of data gathering method that is utilized to collect,

analyze, interpret different views of the respondent in a particular population.


Respondents of the study

In this methodical study, selected students will participate in the process. Twenty students will be

randomly choosen on different classes, the respondents are either a male or female, the choosen

students will receive a survey questionnaires that will mainly gather their opinionated answers.

Research Instrument and Environment

The research instrument that is being used by the researchers is the survey questionnaires,

an important tool for the collection of data answered by the respondents, the collected data as a

result will be rational and valid since the response of the students relates to the questions and

majority of the answers, were appropriate. The context of the of the instruments are used to be

clarify answers that are not clearly stated in survey questionnaires.

Research Environment

This research will be conducted at Jaclupan National High School. Located at Jaclupan,

Talisay City , Cebu Philippines. It is a DepEd managed monograde Secondary School located

in the 2nd District of Cebu. This school is the Mother School of all Secondary School in Talisay.

Jaclupan is a Baranggay of Talisay City Cebu. It is bounded by the Baranggay Camp 4 on

the northwest, tapul on Southwest and Maghaway, Lagtang on southeast and Cebu City on

northeast. It has an area of 1404 hectares in 9 sitios.


Procedure of Data Gathering

Stage 1: The researchers will make a survey questionnaires which is the main tool for data

gathering where the respondents are able to give their opinion by answering the folllowing

questions.

Stage 2: The researchers deals with the actual conduct of the study using the survey

questionnaires.
Stage 3: The survey questionnaires will be distributed on the selected students in Jaclupan

National High School. The answers that are given by the students will sense as a documentations

and basis of the research.

Stage 4: The research will give a further informations and instructions on the respondents for

guidance in order to achieve a successful survey data gathering.

Stage 5: Deals with the collected data during the survey that involves their age, gender and

opinions about the following Effect of Grading System on Students . It will be identified after the

survey.

Stage 6: The researchers will analyze and interpret the data that are gathered after the survey by

reading those answered questions.
