Bitumen Emulsion k1 70
Bitumen Emulsion k1 70
Bitumen Emulsion k1 70
Bitumen Emulsion is made up of three basic ingredients which include Bitumen, an emulsifying agent and water. It is a well known
fact that asphalt and water will not mix, except under carefully controlled conditions using highly specialized equipment and chemical
additives. Cationic Emulsions which have positively charged ions may be used at ambient temperatures with aggregates, which do
not have to be completely dry. Emulsions are less hazardous to use and can be applied in the wider range of conditions and used for
many applications including road surfacing.
Quality: All Bitumen Emulsion supplied is of the highest quality and fully compliant with ASTM, AASHTO, equivalent EN and BS
International Standards and Test Methods. SGS Quality Testing and Analysis certification of the Bitumen products inspected when
requested, will be compliant with Product Specifications and International Standards. Quality assured manufacturing. Equivalent to BS
EN 13808.
Packaging: New steel drums or reconditioned steel drums. Weatherproof packaging for flexibility of storage.
Storage: Store in original containers in a cool dry place. Do not leave containers open. Avoid freezing.
Recommended Application Rate: Mist Spraying - 0.4 L/m² - 0.5 L/m². Tack-coating - 0.2 L/m² - 0.6 L/m².
Concrete Curing - 0.5 L/m² - 0.9 L/m². Full Grouting - 5.0 L/m² - 11.0 L/m² Semi-Grouting - 0.4 L/m² - 0.5 L/m².
Patching - 8.0 L/m² - 10.0 L/m². Sealing of formation and sub-bases - 0.9 L/m² - 1.8 L/m² Surface dressing - 1.4 L/m² - 1.6 L/m²
Uses: Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 containing 67% Bitumen, is commonly used for Tack-Coating. This is applied to an underlying surface
to aid with the adhesion of the following asphalt layer. Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 Is also used for Fog Sealing, Mist Spraying, Concrete
Curing, Grouting, Sealing, Patching, Formation and Sub-base and Surface Dressing. Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 is rapid setting.
Flammable: Contains petroleum distillate. Avoid heat, flames and sources of ignition. (Refer to MSDS Sheet Provided)
