Instrucciones - Compresoras Ingersoll-Rand
The intercooler dissipates the heat of compression from the air between the compression stages and
thus improves the compression efficiency.
RYDLYME cleaning of intercoolers is accomplished without dismantling or removing the tube bundle
from the casing or shell. In order to effectively dissolve all water scale, lime, rust, mud and dirt from the
water side of intercoolers it is most imperative that the instructions be followed.
3. Back flush intercooler thoroughly to remove loose dirt and mud. A good back flush with air pressure
purge is recommended.
5. Compute RYDLYME required and pumping time from the attached schedule.
7. At completion of circulation, disconnect pump and hoses and flush intercooler with water, giving the
unit a good back flush and air pressure purge to remove the insolubles.
Some compressors have split intercoolers that are water cooled from two supply sources. In order to
clean both intercoolers it will be necessary to use jumper hoses or make two hook-ups with pump and
hoses.
The foregoing quantities and pumping times are average for the horsepower shown.
Variable factors involved that may increase or decrease the quantities shown are:
Hardness of cooling water
Time since last cleaned
Method of last cleaning
Type of service encountered
In cleaning intercoolers it is suggested that the largest pipe size available be used for circulation of
RYDLYME.
