PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Refers to an action that condition that continued until a specific point


• in the past.

FORMATION:
•Modal Verb Had + been + Verb with ¨ing.¨

USES:
•Duration before another action in the past.
Cause of something in the past.

EXAMPLES:
•She became ill because she had been eating unhealthy.
• He passed English because he had been studying a lot.

EXCEPTIONS:

•Verbs that do not take ¨ing¨ form.
