Course Number: Math 12

Course Title: Trigonometry

Credit: 3 (3 hours/week)

Prerequisites: Math 11

Course Description:

This course aims to develop student’s understanding of

fundamentals of trigonometric functions: angles, solutions of
triangles, periodic phenomena and their applications. The course
extends to include analytic trigonometry and applications to distance
measurements in navigation, engineering and physical sciences.

Course Outcomes: At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. gain considerable learning experiences on fundamental concepts

in trigonometry;
2. develop skills in problem formulating and solving, justifying
and reasoning, evaluating and extending, analytical skills;
3. acquire and develop appropriate strategies in teaching
trigonometry; and
4. develop teaching materials and activities needed to teach the
subject effectively.
