TEST -3 : MPI
Personality definition
Theories of personality : type theories all
And trait theory –elaborate
The MPI test has been given by H.J.Eysenck. It was developed to give a ready measure
of two personality dimensions : Neuroticism and Extraversion . Each of these two traits
are measured by 48 questions . Neuroticism refers to general emotional stability of a
person ,his/her emotional over responsiveness and his/her stability over neurotic
breakdown under stress . Extraversion refers to the outgoing , uninhibited , sociable
proclivities of a person .
RELIABILITY
The split half reliability for the neuroticism scale the values lie between 0.85 to 0.95 and
for extraversion scale they lie between 0.75 to 0.85 .And the retest reliabilities are 0.83
and 0.81 respectively .
VALIDITY
SCORING:
The inventory is scored directly from test forms . One translucent scoring key is available
, for each two scales . The numbers in the front of the questions in the inventory should
correspond with the numbers of the key .

TEST 04 : DBDA
AIM : To assess the aptitude of the subject using David's Battery Of Differential Ability .
BASIC CONCEPT :
Aptitude
'Difference between Aptitude , Interest and Intelligence
Why is it important to assess aptitude : It is important to assess the aptitude of
the person as to know where the individual's potential lies , to predict as to know
an individual is likely to perform if given proper environment and training .
Few Frequently used Aptitude test :- DBDA ; DAT ;GATB ;ASVAB
The David’s battery of differential abilities (DBDA) has been devised in order to have a measure of an
individual’s abilities . There are 8 abilities tested by the battery:
1. Verbal ability (VA): refers to the comprehension of words and ideas , or a person’s ability to
understand written language .
2. Numerical ability (NA): refers to facility in manipulating numbers quickly and accurately in tasks
involving additions , subtractions , divisions , multiplication etc .
3. Spatial Ability (SA ) is concerned with perceiving spatial patterns accurately and the orientations of
figures in space.
4. Closure Ability (CA) : It refers to the ability to see quickly a whole stimulus , when parts of it are
missing . The principle of closure has been adopted from Gestalt psychology which suggests that the
brain tends to fill the gaps in order to perceive complete meaningful forms.
5. Clerical Ability : Is perceptual activity primarily concerned with making rapid evaluation of features of
visual stimulation .
6. Reasoning ability : It refers to the ability to apply the processing of reason from some specific
information to a general principle .
7. Mechanical Ability ( MA): refers to a understanding of basic mechanical ability principle , simple
mechanisms , tools electrical and motive facts .
8. Psycho Motor Ability : It refers to the principle of movement requiring eye hand coordination under
time constraints .
INTERPRETATION OF RESULT :
The aim of the test was to assess the aptitude of the subject using David's Battery Of Differential
Aptitude . . On the basis of the scores obtained , following can be interpreted about the subject .

TEST -5 : SCAT
AIM : To assess the Anxiety level of the subject using Sinha’s Comprehensive Anxiety
Test.
BASIC CONCEPT :
Define abnormal behaviour
Anxiety – define
Anxiety disorders types
The test has been developed by A.K.P. Sinha and L.N.K Sinha . It has 90 items .The
items of the test were largely constructed on the basis of the symptoms of anxiety
reported by those who visited the Institute Of Psychological Research and Services
,Patna university for Psychological assistance .
RELIABILITY
The coefficient of reliability was determined by using the following two methods:
1 The test retest was employed to determine the temporal stability of the test. the
product moment correlation between the test and retest scores was 0.85
2.using spearman brown formula the reliability coefficient of the test was found to be
0.92
VALIDITY
The coefficient of validity was determined by computing the coefficient between scores of
comprehensive anxiety test and on Taylor’s manifest anxiety scale. It was 0.62 , which is
significant beyond .001 level of confidence .
SCORING:
The inventory can be scored by hand and no scoring key is required . For any response
that indicates “ Yes” , the testee should be awarded a score of one and zero for no . the
sum of all the positives or yes responses would be the total anxiety score of an individual
.
Aim
Define anxiety
