1 INTRODUCTION

SPORTS ACADEMY AND TRAINING CENTER

Sports such as hockey, kabaddi, badminton, tennis, football and cricket leagues have become
popular in the last few years, and this requires professional and specialised sports facilities for
practice and competitions. As a result, the concept of sports academy has emerged. Sport academy
provide sports facilities with learning process available. Making sports a part of mainstream
education than just extracurricular activities is critical. It is required to bridge the demand supply
gap that is skill development for sports and allied activities which can be created by giving right
direction and orientation to the sports enthusiasts and keeping them within the ecosystem.

NEED IDENTIFICATION

However there is an absence of support system in sports i.e. right kind of coaches, academy, event
managers, sports infrastructure, sports managers and developers, sports scientists,
physiotherapists, sponsorship experts and so on.

To provide benefit to local population as the proposed sports academy would encourage them to
enrol in sports via membership schemes and thus promote healthy living with increase in
employment.

To create a strategic events that will help to attract national and international sporting events to be
held and become reason of global appreciation to nation.

JUSTIFICATION

Cricket has become a religion in India being the second largest populous country having lot of
multi talents in other sports too stands nowhere in the Olympics. This is because due to lack of
facilities and motivation for youngsters who wish to make their career in other sports too.

I always wanted to see India as a multi sports nation where sports persons should be treated given
equal amount of respect. We should look at creating sports academies.

There is need for more and more sports academies to nurture young athletes along with creating
new infrastructure to change India from a sports watching nation to sports playing nation.
