This is to thank each of our 2615 referees (17% more this year), by name, for contributing their precious time and expertise to
Physics of Fluids. This year, we again relied more heavily than ever on the generosity of our reviewer community. Figure 1 tracks
the remarkable growth of this community of those contributing reviews to Physics of Fluids.1–6 Thanks to its responsiveness, we
handled our increase in submissions, further reduced our time to publication (by 5%), published 33% more papers than ever
(exactly 900 articles), raised our standard for acceptance, and celebrated, for our third successive year, our highest impact factor
(2.627). Our reviewers are holding Physics of Fluids to its highest standard. Our reviewer thoroughness and speed are humbling.
We again published our regular articles more rapidly than ever, and again, even more rapidly than competing rapids. On behalf
of our editorial team, with special thanks to our 241 star reviewers∗ , I acknowledge gratefully the referees who served Physics of
Fluids so generously in 2019.
