Trial of the stone
A Chinese folklore retold by Keens-Douglas, Ricardo and Stephane Jorisch
Richardo Keens-Douglas is born in 1953, is a Canadian film and stage actor. ... He is also very
well known for his work as an actor, playwright, television and radio host. He was born in the fifties
in the southern Caribbean island of Grenada commonly known as the “Isle of Spice”, and spent his
childhood there. He wrote The Nutmeg Princess, one of his famous book, and The Trial of the
stone.
Stéphane Jorisch is an award-winning artist and designer living in Montreal, is a
Canadian children's book illustrator. He has written and illustrated more than 80
children's books in English and French. In addition to his books for young
people, Jorisch does editorial illustration work for magazines and has created
designs for the Cirque de Soleil. He is the illustrator of The Village of a Hundred
Smiles and Other Stories (1998) and The Mustache (1999).

STORY OF “THE TRIAL OF THE STONE.”
GIVE EACH GROUP 5 MINS TO FORM THE PUZZLE AND READ THE STORY, AFTER READING THE
STORY, THE TEACHER WILL FACILITATE LEARNING BY ASKING QUESTIONS WHICH WILL SERVE
AS A SUMMARY TO THE STORY EXPOSING THE STORIES PLOT AND THE CHARACTERS WITHIN
THE STORY.
MECHANICS: THIS ROUND IS PLAYED BY GROUP, EACH GROUP MUST CHOOSE ONE TO
ANSWER THE SAID QUESTIONS AND THE GROUP WHICH ANSWERS(CORRECT) THE MOST
WINS THE ROUND.

GIVE EACH GROUP MANILA PAPER AND A MARKER, ASK THEM WHICH PART OF THE LESSON
THEY LIKE MOST, AND LET THEM DRAW THE PART OF THE STORY STRIKE THEM, EACH GROUP
MUST EXPLAIN THEIR OUTPUT AND THEIR REFLECTION TO THE STORY.
